Casual fans? Of course. Hardcore fans are more likely to find fault with any win, since they know more, so they have the knowledge to nitpick.
since pacfans arent really boxingfans you would they would give him credit for beating their god.....right?........the thing is i dont think so..I think they worship him SO much that they would think of it as a 1 in a million fluke if floyd were to win..which he would and easily imo
Most casual fans are Pacquiao fans because they admire the energy he brings into the ring, so they will be rooting for him. Most casual fans see Floyd's perfect record and assume he is going to win so it won't be different than any other win in my opinion.
There will always be the few knuckle-draggers who won't be able to admit it, but the majority will give him props. If Pac wins there will also a small contingent with a collective IQ of 55 who won't give props to Pac also.
Of course he will, barring any controversy in the fight. Pacquiao has solidified himself as the greatest and most popular fighter in the world in the eyes of casual fans with his historic feats of late. Pac is as close to the level Ali was after Foreman and Leonard was after Hagler that any fighter in this era can get. Both are in their prime and tearing up the same division, each recently having destroyed the next best welters. The only issue I can see that might discredit his win will be due to the drug testing fiasco Mayweather has created. If Pac agrees to the random testing and performs badly and gets blown out away by Mayweather then I can see alot of people claiming either Pac was on roids all along or the drug testing effected his performance.
Depends. If he goes out and dominates Pacquaio, we're just going to hear the same old tired excuse about him fighting smaller fighters (despite him being a medium to small welterweight himself) If he goes out and fights a war where he wins, he'll get credit. The big problem is that he just absolutely dominates people in the ring and they get discredited immediately afterwards. The type of beating he gives someone isn't something you can look back on and say "I got caught with a lucky shot" or "If I did this better, I could have won" unlike Pacquaio. Hatton still feels he could beat Pacquaio, I bet he doesn't feel the same about Floyd.
All in time. Just give it time and you will not need Pac. ESB used to hate Lewis. Only a tiny minority thought that he was a "great" fighter, and they were mocked endlessly.
