    Also,its WBC,a 'superstar' sanctioning body.
They dont ask or expect the Oscars or the Floyds to worry about mandatories.

Pretty much as i said above; If one of their stars wanted to fight Ronald Mcdonald they'd make him top contender.
They use to turn tricks for Ray Leonard,so its nothing new.

Nope....they use that provision which allows them to "vote" on certain rules and basically circumvent them whenever it's convenient.

Hatton was a mandatory, BUT, you are supposed to face the Interim champion before anyone else. That was Mosley, who was Interim champion before he even fought DLH.

True, but the WBC allows for intervining contests under special circumstances. Also, Mosley was stripped of his interim belt after agreeing to fight for the WBA title.

I think Mayweather has carte blanche to do anything he wants.

the WBC is all about having the biggest names holding their belts, just like when they basically handed Mayorga a belt, stripped rochigianni and gave a belt to RJJ, etc.

Berto is fighting for in an eliminator for Floyds WBC welterweight title ...
but that fight will never happen ... chances are he'll fight for a different title... he's too green to make a legit challenge.

Paul Williams was the mandatory for Floyd and chose to fight Margarito instead.

What does that link say I can't get youtube at work? The way I remember it he took margarito because floyd was busy elsewhere it's not like he chose margarito over Floyd he just took the guy that was available.

Floyd was the number 1 contender to Baldomir's title and Paul Williams was number 2 once Floyd beat Baldomir ... Williams became the number 1 challenger.
Floyd fought Judah after that ... Williams didn't fight Margarito till last year
