Would he go down as the biggest PU$$Y in boxing history. Would people ignore his accomplishments before reaching 140lbs.

I have come to terms with the fact, that the possibility of him fighting Cotto wont be till 2009. The floyd huggers have also said the same.

But, WHAT IF it never happens. Will boxing fans around the world lose all respect for him?

the casual boxing fan will perceive floyd however he is made to look on mainstream outlets.. so for as long as espn and other media people label floyd as p4p #1 he will be the king.....

The winner of Margo-Cotto should also fight Mayweather or many questions would be unanswered.

    If the winner of Margo-Cotto doesn't fight Mayweather then he's a *****.

Mayweather is hoping Cotto/Margo beat themselves up pretty badly. Then he gets to finish of the winner. I cant blame him. Thats a great strategy.

I agree 100%. I'm going off the assumption that if Bob Arum says he wants his fighter to fight Floyd, but Floyd comes up with excuses to not fight.

hell fight cotto if the situation becomnes urgent enough in his career...

1 world ( commercial boxing fans ) view floyd as the savior of boxing
another world ( real boxing fans ) view floyd as a coward who needs to fight cotto.

if the first world i mentioned understands the fact that cotto is that good and a danger to floyds career ..

    teh fight will be made

margarito will never be recognized in the 1st world

I disagree. I think there are real boxing fans that support Mayweather, like Radar and myself. I am a fan of Mayweather and don't view him as a saviour (though last year he did a lot), just as a great fighter.

And there are commercial boxing fans that are fans of Cotto because they find his style "fun to watch" and because it is a "cool thing" to hate on Mayweather.

"Top Rank fighters fight," stated Bob Arum at the post-fight press conference. "Antonio and Miguel are Top Rank fighters; no nonsense, they come to fight. A lot of people who watched that fight said that Miguel Cotto is the best fighter in the world. You have to judge, but he's damn, damn, good. And I think that some of you people who may have misguidedly cast a vote for 'fighter of the year' and neglected the fact that this man on my right (Cotto) beat Zab Judah and beat Shane Mosley, two real fighters. No Mickey Mouse, no 24/7's, no dropping F-bombs, but real honest working fighters."
