If Floyd were to become the MW champ of the world, than he would clearly be way above Pac. winning LW,WW, and the MW is really special IMO.

Hell yeah he'll rank higher then Pacquiao. When was the last time Pacquiao fought a real prime very good fighter that isn't in the catchweight fight?

Not true, Mayweather still would have to prove himself. If Floyd unified the title at welter it would do more for his legacy than fighting Pacquiao. Facing and beating Pacquiao helps his legacy than not facing Pacquiao because of Pacquiao legacy as a fighter. If Pacquiao retired after De La Hoya, Floyd would be lucky to crack top forty on most anyone's ATG P4P list. getting into the top fifty for Floyd would be a tossup on many lists. Floyd is overrated today because what Pacquiao is doing and because people don't use a good criteria for ranking current fighters. Ranking active fighters on the ATG lists shouldn't even be done. The problem with most people ranking these two on the ATG P4P list is that they compare them straight up. Pacquiao is at least one weight class below Mayweather. Floyd fighting and winning in the 154 class consistently would do the most to boost his ATG legacy ranking.

Pacquiao has already proven himself and on the P4P legacy list and would rank higher than Mayweather based on comparing accomplishments.

For sure he would. He's not too far off now. If he beats Martinez or fights and beats Pac then he passes Pac. It's one of those things whereas I know Floyd is a better fighter, but history may have Pac a GREATER fighter for now at least. Unless Floyd takes a giant risk. And the only two giant risks out there for him are Martinez and Pac. I've always believed May would beat Pac in a difficult but decisive fashion, but Martinez given his size would be extremely tough. I'm a huge Floyd fan and a lot of other Floyd fans will prolly hate on me for sayin that ****, but whatever man, it's true. Money still a G though, and in my opinion will always be a better fighter than Pac.

Bypassing the clear P4P#1 to go for the #3 is a cheap way to get the top spot, especially considering Mayweather is lacking in fights and great wins in the past few years compared to Pacquiao
