I'm a Floyd fan. But if he has a belt at 154 he should not have a problem fighting a 154lb fighter. If he can't fight canelo then he cherry picked that belt originally. With that said, if not cotto than who else? The only other deserving fighter would be whomever emerges from the gb 140 tourney, or Alvarado if he beats manny. But the earliest the gb tourney winner would be available would sept next year. Since they would be tied up in 3 fights(khan fight in spring or early summer 2014). So really canelo is the only viable option for late 2013 . SO I GUESS DEVON ALEXANDER OR MAIDANA IT IS!!!!!

Most champions moving up takes a tune up fight if the win they have the opportunity at the champion of the weight class. Now all of a sudden Mayweather is so special that those rules no longer applies because he's the P4P #1. Holyfield won Silver in the olympic and after 11 pro fights he was not ready for a fight with Quawi but he won it. That to me is a fighter not ready for a title shot. Guerrero has put his time in as a professional fighter and a champion, he fights one of the tougher guys in the division to earn a title shot. In my view he is as ready as he is ever going to be for his shot and his prior championships says he deserves a shot. Canelo just unified the titles so yes he deserves a shot, what else would you have these fighter do to get a shot. How many fights did old Leon Spinks have when he pulled the rug from under Ali's feet. If these fighters have proven themselves as both Guerrero and Canelo have the deserve a shot.

He already tried when Canelo called him out after the Mosley fight and Golden Boy turn him down saying the Canelo wasn't ready.

I agree with you 100%. But if you campaign at that weight but won't fight the best that the division has to offer than you cherry picked a belt or cherry picked a check. And canelo isn't a 160 like sergo that can meet you at 154. He's a straight 154. Floyd doesn't just have A belt, he's the 1 rated fighter and WBC super champ( whatever that means lol). Considering the options, my boy Floyd has to fight ginger.

Atleast I hope he does. I sided with Floyd on all his choices of opponents b4. I understood his stance with PAC. But now I have zero defense for night fight canelo(my other guy).

If Floyd respects the sanctity of the belts( which he claims he does) he will fight canelo.

Haha. Sometimes it's hard to defend Floyd's logic. Even when he has a point he's a moron about it. He's like a fine dining restaurant that serves you lobster on trash can lid.

Of course not dont be silly.. Floyd doesn't like challenges. He only likes it when other boxers challenge themselves and move up divisions to fight him.
That's why I say this fight will never happen.
