If Floyd fought Marquez toe to toe just as he did with Mosley and Cotto....

how would it turn out?? Seems like alot of people aren't interested in a rematch but as a die hard fan of Marquez, I definitely would love to see it again and I think Marquez will do much better as he's more settled into this higher weight...

    Thoughts?

Marquez would get outclassed again. Both are counter punchers and Mayweather has the size and speed, terrible style for Marquez. He might be more competitive this time but the result will remain the same.

Floyd blasts him out. Floyd would never run into a punch full throttle to finish someone off - he doesn't even like coming forward.

It's a terrible terrible style match up for Juan. To be honest, JMM won like 30 seconds to a minute of the fourth Pac fight, they were just the parts that counted. He looked awful, worse than he has ever looked. Floyd is not overconfident and in a hurry to finish off a guy who is no threat to him in any way shape or form.

All you need to look at is the easy time Benitez had with Duran, the complete death job Duran put on Moore, and the easy time Moore had KOing Benitez quickly in a nice little round robin that proves styles sometimes make very easy fights at the elite or near the elite level.

Marquez is too accurate and put his punches together too well to be that wreckless, even though Mayweather dominated him he respected JMM ability to touch that chin, Mayweather caught a few wicked overhand rights from JMM, now if he was brawling and didnt see those shots coming he could have got put to sleep

With JMM you box him and you beat him easily he has no answer for the left hand and ducks into the first left all the time, the reason he got dropped 5 times vs Manny, dropped by Diaz, and Katsidis, and dropped by the lunging left upperhook by Mayweather and ate jabs all night,. Brawling against a counter puncher at JMM level is foolish, Mayweather knows that

I know JMM won BIG, but that really was the worst overall performance of JMM's entire career. He was getting drubbed way worse than the fight with Floyd. He needs to retire.

Disagree on Pac IV being Juan's worst performance...
Looked more like Marquez was baiting the rat trap until he took the cheese.

    Then "KTFO".
Juan was setting up that overhand counter shot from the start.
    (Different gameplan)

It was obvious that Pac was getting set up for the right hand and he fell for it due to his lack of boxing IQ.

Marquez ate some shots but he had to in order to execute his plan..

It is still a bad fight for Marquez. Floyd can fight well in the pocket and there's no way in hell he gets hit with the overhand rights that floored Manny.

From a viewing standpoint, it would be epic. Fans have always wanted to see Floyd slug it out. It would be great for the sport of boxing as a whole, just bad for Juan.

some of these *******s are ridiculous. they think pac was beating up marquez until marquez able to land a lucky punch.:patsch

as if marquez wasn't landing that right hand bomb all fight. one bomb knocked manny down and the other put manny out. that's as dominating a performance from marquez that i have ever seen. his best performance of his amazing career.

He'd have to be baited or forced into it, he's not just getting cornered and trading in the pocket because he wakes up feeling like it that day. If he decides to be more offensive minded, it may give Marquez more opportunities to land, depending on his condition.
