Noone would watch his fights. He wouldn't make 10% of the money he averages. People want to watch Manny to see a good fight whereas they watch Floyd just to see him get beaten. He's all about the "0" while Manny is all about entertainment.

    Thoughts?

My thoughts are that people only want to watch Manny because he was built up as a rival to Maywewther. I also think that Manny hasn't been that entertaining in years and that he's the B side in this fight.

I think there is truth in the top 2 posts

Had Floyd lost or "5" times his career path would be different. Maybe with 5 losses he goes to face GGG at middle or never goes above 140... In the hypothetical when did he lose and at what weight?

Either way he's an immense talent and the 0 creates the persona and image which allows us to be interested in the one sided PPVs... Tyson lost his invincibility and still was huge

Manny has definitely benefited from Floyd. I mean what he's done by jumping weights has been tremendous and he's a force in the ring. He wouldn't be the star he is if he wasn't linked to a very disliked athlete like Floyd, some stems from the 0

it's like gatti...he lost a lotta fights but still had many fans. same with kirkland and the late, great matthew saad muhammad. guys who gave us action fights but lost as many as they won...nothing against action fighters. they make the sport interesting.

but you're missing the point with floyd...the point is that he HAS NEVER LOST!...if he HAD lost, it would be because he wasn't that good. The fact that he HAS NEVER LOST, makes him the BEST!...that's why people want to see him fight. Being the BEST is what makes floyd a draw

pacquiao fights with rios, algeri, mosley, clottey were GOD AWFUL to watch.

pacquiao is a built up fighter by the fans and media as the guy to take down the king of the throne.

LOL? Manny was chosen the fighter of the decade in a decade Floyd was in his prime. If that was at all true, it'd be Floyd who was being built up against Manny.

Good point, even with 5 loses Pacquiao is still seen by some as on par with Floyd in terms of legacy.

If Floyd lost and then won rematches with DLH or Castillo and fought top guys like Casamayor, Freitas and Tszyu early on and lost a few, it wouldn't be a big deal. He might even be looked at more favorably for testing himself vs some other elite fighters at the time.

I hold the Barrera/Morales/Pac group in higher regard because they continually tested themselves vs the best of their generation. Floyd did not do that consistently.

If Floyd had to start his career the way Manny did he'd never have made it . Manny had to fight to survive He was fighting grown men experienced fighters while just barely a teen. He was thrown in as a sacrificial lamb as a last minute replacement & was expected to be easy pickings. Instead he fought his heart out & WON!!!!!!! Manny Pacquaio had ARRIVED!!!

Floyd has been cossetted & protected throughout his career & wnt be ready to FIGHT!!!! He cannot get down in the trenches & FIGHT!! he's never had to. Cherry picking opponents & always having hometown officials have got him to this point.
All I hope is that just for this once Floyd gives his opponent a level playing field, no biased officials no ludicrous demands just a good clean fight with the legitimate best man on the night getting the win I wouldn't hold your breath on that score though:patsch
