In the span of time when he was gone, and when these guys were considered the biggest challenges in the Welterweight division.

  3. He wouldnt have fought any of them. He would have fought Hatton again or DLH again (If Pac didnt get to him first). I can also imagine him fighting JCC jr.

Had he not retired, I'd say The Cotto fight happens right after Hatton.
    (Cotto after the Mosley fight)

He retired probably because of those welters

he probably would have fought Berto he was becoming WBC mandatory i think, and he might have fought Clottey who wasnt as dangerous as the other 3

He retired so he WOULDN'T have to fight them. Since his comeback he fought Marquez and will fight Paq, much better choices from Floyds point of view. No one can complain about him taking on Manny, but remember it's a much better all around deal to fight Manny for the big bucks , than it would have been to fight Williams for less. The short retirement allowed a rest for Floyds hands , and to let the other top guys wear each other out, and let Floyd duel it out with the survivor.Turned out brilliantly for Floyd actually. He can go into training camp more rested and much less damaged going in than Manny.

Well, Rockgloves is currently serving a year-long suspension for cheating.

Those guy are the reason he retired. If he did not retire he would have went through with Oscar 2...but even that was too much for him to handle.
