If Floyd is down big on the cards, will he go for the KO and risk it all?

If Floyd ever finds himself down big on the scorecards heading into the last few rounds, do you guys think he would go out on his shield and risk getting knocked out himself in order to KO his opponent and save his 0.

Never seen him in the position where he has had to take risks....What do you guys think?

I think he had to in the Cotto fight, and he did. He's terribly complete in there. Can't see him letting a guy win too many rounds. Mosley hurt him and Floyd came alive.

Having said that, if he's ahead, he would never go for the close when he could just keep doing what he's doing.

I agree, I was thinking more along the lines of he is down 7-3 heading into the championship rounds, would he really risk getting put down to win. I think he would. Although yea at the same time I don't see any situation where he would be in a spot where he is down by that much.

He's a smart measured fighter and smart enough to know when to go for it

I dont think Floyd would ever be down big on the cards because of the way he adjusts, he would probably go out on his shield before falling way behind

No way. He chalks it up to injury or something and tries to come back another day. He's not nearly as safety first as Wlad, but he is a safety first fighter.

:deal good point...he would probably turn it on way before he is down big, even if it meant he got stopped. He seems to know when he is winning and losing rounds.

No he won't. Mayweather usually waits and baits his opponents to open up for a clean shot. He will look to do that and if an opening comes he will go for it, if not then he's going to fight his usual fight. That's how he always fought and will continue to. He's not going to completely change his fighting style into something he's not used to and give his opponent free openings. Some people treat boxing as if it's a street fight, "I'm not getting opening so I'll just go for broke and swing for my life". It doesn't exactly work like that in a boxing match.

Gotta admit though, it would be amazing to see Floyd tested like this and see how he responds. Maybe with a fluke knockdown putting him behind on points and a cut...see what he is really made of.

Personally I think it would bring out the best in him.

You think so? Say he is fighting Canelo and is down big, with his 0 and his legacy at stake you think he would give up so easy? I think he would go down swinging big, but you may be right, no way to know.

Mayweather would go for the KO, he would walk someone down taking punishment if he had to

Depends if the guy ahead on the cards is hurting him and Floyds shots are doing little to keep that opponent in check there is no ****ing way he tries to get the knock out....

You guys think the fans would get behind Mayweather if he was down big, had maybe been knocked down...and started making a comeback?

I think they would, people dont hate Floyd nearly as much as they used to.

  15. He would try his hardest, he has more heart and determination than almost anybody it takes alot of dedication to do what he has done.
