Will you stop with that ****.

If that was true it will be like this in H2H Match ups and Polls

    Johnson>Marciano>Ali>Holmes>Tyson>Lewis>Klitschkos

    instead it's more like

    Ali>Lewis>Klitschkos--Tyson-Holmes-Marciano>Johnson

it's all over the place.. you will not find any polls or any significant amount of people saying Marciano or Johnson beat Lewis or Vitali... So the past is not hyped like you said.'

It's only like this in relation to Floyd because in the case of Floyd he's just so much smaller than the true welters.. the past is not hyped.. if anything SIZE is hyped.

Floyd loses to Hearns because Hearns is just the much bigger man with more power and similar boxing skills etc...

You don't hear people saying RJJ will lose to ****ing some 1940's LHW now do you?

Floyd does not care about his legacy. He is just a business man so don't force him up there.

He'd have to start doing stupid things to be the greatest. Look at a guy like Sam Langford. Here's a guy who was 5"6, won against Joe Gans at lightweight. Skip a few years and he's fighting heavyweights like Jack Johnson, Joe Jeanette and Harry Wills... Nobody would've blamed him if he'd decided to stay at welterweight or middleweight, but he wouldn't be seen as one of the best boxers we've seen. Same with Harry Greb... Most writer wouldn't even dare to write stories half as crazy as their career.

Mayweather fans think people are crazy for asking him to fight Canelo... I agree that would be a stupid thing to do, but he needs to do many of these stupid things to be rated in the top 10. Floyd vs Alvarez is certainly not as crazy as Langford vs Johnson, Duran vs Hagler, Greb vs Tunney, etc.

I have total respect for Mayweather, he's one of the best defensive fighter this sport have seen... but he's not the greatest.

:hi:,I keep telling them he has decent wins & is a sure H.O.F. but every time I mention him not having a significant win or fighting a huge threat I'm labeled a hater. But I laugh cause I'm a former supported & don't buy his bs like these others suckers do.

In their minds, Floyd's fight with Corrales was as dangerous as Duran's with Haggler. :-(

Exactly. He himself chose money over his legacy and brags about it, so why can't his fans accept this? The end result is his legacy doesn't necessarily match his talent.

Corrales was a HUGE ****ing win, he was a monster. He was also facing certain prison immediately after the fight, which might have something to do with his performance that night. Don't see Floyd short, he did everything that could be done at LW.

Problem is he hasn't really done **** after that.

Did'nt take on all comers and avoided certain styles.

You cant be considered the best in an ATG list when you cherrypick who and when you fight.

There is nothing left Floyd can do to be considered the GOAT.

    1) Other fighters in the past have had undefeated records that exceeded Floyds..so not that

    2) Fighters have existed who have taken on and overcome greater challeges than did Floyd..so not that

    3) The absolute best faced the others who were considered the best and at the time they were considered at the top of there game...so not that

    4) Handpicking your own opponents does not a GOAT make..so not that

As you can see Mayweather is great this cannot be denied as his skills are there for all to see. However he chose to not prove he could be the GOAT and that's all she wrote.

Just wanted to recalibrate this argument.

For the sake of this argument lets say inbetween weight classes aint **** and only count full weight classes.

    1) ask yourself who the greatest Featherwight of all times is? answer not Floyd (Willy Pep)

    2) ask yourself who is the greatest lightweight of all time? answer not Floyd (Roberto Duran)

    3) ask yourself who is the greatest Welterweight of all time? answer not Floyd (Ray Robinsion, Ray Leonard close 2nd)

Again Floyd is not the GOAT! I just can't see how folk ride his jock so hardf as to be blinded by ther nuthuggery.

Things Mayweather would need to do to be in contention for GOAT:

    1. Fight and beat Margarito back when it meant something
    2. Fight and beat Pac back in 2009-2010
    3. Move up to 160 and beat Martinez
    4. Move up to 168 and beat Ward

So in other words, nothing. It ain't happening.

There's no way in hell that fighting 2006 Margarito and 2007 Cotto would all of a sudden make him the GOAT or top 10 ATG. Anti-Floyd fans tell themselves that because they know it's something he couldn't do because of promotional feuds [Haymon/GBP vs TR], as well the ugly lawsuit between him/Haymon and Arum, which was why Arum started the smear campaign in the first place.

However, Floyd can finish his career strong. He needs to start with fighting Canelo at at 154, and I would love nothing more than to see him fight Martinez at 155-157 but that's just a dream fight. They are both old, just two years apart. Canelo, Matthysse-Garcia winner, Alexander-Khan winner, in his next 3 fights would be a dream come true as a boxing fan. All of those fights are interesting to me. I'd give them all to Floyd, but they would be interesting because Floyd isn't getting any younger.
