Richard Schaefer keeps telling the world that Floyd isn't afraid to fight Pacquiao, even fom his dad, uncle and fans. Okay, so if Floyd isn't afraid to fight Pacquiao, then what's the problem?

Floyd proclaims greatness, and he says that he is the top pound for pound fighter in the world. He says all of this but there is no escaping the fact that he still has not stepped up and fought Pacman, the guy that the rest of the world sees as the pound for pound king.

There has to be a reason that explains why Floyd is ducking Manny Pacquiao. Oh did I say, "ducking?" Yes, I said it. If he wasn't ducking Manny, then the fight would have happened by now.

Floyd's fans know that their guy would do better than Margarito or Clottey did. They know this, and that is what makes them so frustrated. They know that their favorite fighter (Floyd) has the skills to pose the most danger to Manny Pacquiao, yet their guy won't sign the contract.

So, why won't Floyd sign the contract and fight? Is his ego so big that he would rather squander 40 million because he's afraid of losing his undefeated record? If so, then could someone tell Floyd that ducking Manny to preserve his undefeated record hurts his legacy more than a loss against Manny would.

If Floyd steps up and comes up short, history will say that Floyd fought the best, beat most of his opponents, and lost to an 8 division world title winner. This does not hurt his legacy at all.

If Floyd continues to duck Manny, and Pacman retires, then Floyd's legacy will be forever damaged and the history books will read how Floyd ducked the best fighter in the world.

I certainly hope that no one expects the Mayweathers to openly say they're afraid of Pacquiao....

Mayweather isn't afraid of Pacquiao but I do think he's reluctant to face him because he's got reasonable doubts with the end result.

He likes to control the events or always know he has every possible edge. In the Pacquiao case, it's just lingering insecurity that won't fade away...

Floyd is just waiting for the right time to fight Pac, in short, waiting for Pac to slow down and to be battle worn and then Floyd will go ahead and fight the Pacman.

He's on vacation, building up the hype. He made more money in one fight than Pac has in two fights this year.

Because he's smarter than his fans. He knows Pacquiao can beat him.

The problem is that both these guys have lots of business people around each of them that make millions everytime they fight and know very well that gravy train would takes a significant dip if one of them were to lose. Business people, like on wallstreet or anywhere else are worried about risk reward and return on investment. I think its fair to say that weather or not the fighters themselves are affraid to fight each other (I highly doubt that they are) there are many people around them making a lot of money that don't like the risk.

I think the best example of this is the fact that pacquiao has said in a couple of times interviews that he'll take random blood tests right up untill the fight....yet michael Kontz remains adement that he won't take a the week of the fight....funny...and if you look at the way Arum goes out and lies about having agreed to all demands when that clearly isn`t true you start to see that there are several people in the way of this fight happening that don`t care about the spectical, the integrity of the sport (the fact that it is a sport) and just worry about money. If we ever get this fight it won't be until late next year...or never at all.

Mayweather is as scared of Pac as much as he was of Mosley when he wished Mosley luck with the rest of his career.

The fight hasn't taken place because they never agreed to blood testing. And they are both to stubborn to sacrifice there pride to make the fight happen at this point.

If Pacquiao isn't scared to fight Mayweather, than what's the problem?
Why dose he not agree to full random PED testing?

I don't know whats behind it. I hesitate to say FMJ is scared, because he fought SSM when nobody thought he would, and on top of that, was actually the aggressor that fight, and didn't even back down when hurt in the second round.

I think that FMJ currently just has no interest in fighting Pacquiao for...whatever reason. I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say he is just waiting until he is good and ready (Floyd has always been one to do things on HIS terms) but at the same time, I do think the "scared to lose his 0" theory may have some merit, but scared as in "afraid to get beat up" scared? I doubt it.

    building up the hype?:patsch

the hype has been made already. fans are getting frustrated. the more the fight gets delayed, the more the fans lose its interest since both fighters are getting older. who would wanna watch two old timers fight when they couldve fought 5 or 3yrs ago?

People forget how quickly Team Pacquiao and Top Rank made that fight after the failed negotiations. They did seem to run away. Arum did anyway whatever the reason.
