It's a peculiar thing when a fighter goes above and beyond expectations and fans who thought the opponent was good prior to the fight then think the opponent is garbage.

Such was the case with Tyson annihilating the 80s HW division. He did it so easily, so it must have been weak, right?

It's never the amazing fighter doing the amazing work... yet fighters that display a far more 'human' vulnerability get heralded for much less accomplishments because it's more relatable to the common know-it-all clown. See the Klitschko's in that regard.

Of course it would be downplayed if Floyd knocked out Canelo. Drained, inexperienced, roids - all of the above.

unless canelo is severely weight drained, he ain't ko'ing canelo out. he has only 2 ko in the last 8 years, one of them via cheapshot.

plus floyd is a runner, safety first fighter, flight rather than fight.

the more I think about this fight, the more I believe canelo will weigh in over
he has 30 days to drop 14 pounds (since the weigh in), and that isn't 'look good on the beach' weight, that's performance weight.

hes the same at that 30 day mark as he was for trout (within a pound I think), which still leaves him about 2.5 pounds to make up ON TOP OF his usual prep.

what rings alarm bells for me is that canelo must have walked into camp without any pre-training diet/advice if he is still playing catch up for the biggest fight of his career, when he knows he has to drop more than usual

canelo to weigh in at 154, drop the 2 mill, increases his chances at doing well, and if showtime are smart, they'll jump at any excuse for a rematch...2 mill recouped

Did anyone see Stephen Smith KO Buckland this last weekend? A good boxer with skill can score a KO without going for it. JMM over Pac another example. Timing is just as important as power. Floyd can KO Alvarez, I say 25% chance he does. 74% chance he gets UD and 1% chance Alvarez wins.
