You're asking the wrong dude that question. I'd still nail Sophia Loren.

With the way Floyd's been choosing his fights, I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd actually did that.

    Ah...
Common ground is shared. I'd love him just to take on a talented, dangerous opponent. I don't really see that in Pac or Cotto(anymore). Floyd had the opportunity to prove himself but instead of building his legacy to legend, he put out shitty music and threw fake money at clubs.

    Yikes.:rofl

I don't think Cotto is any different post Margarito. People say he's less ferocious, but they forget how he fought Shane, on the backfoot, as a counterpuncher. He didn't do much body work and he didn't look like he wanted to rip Shane's guts out.

Cotto looked terrifying against guys he was breaking down, but when his competition stepped up and he started fighting strong, durable guys that he couldn't break he changed his style up. He fought basically the same fight against Mosely/Margarito/Clottey because they were all bigger, and quite possibly stronger. Against Jennings he looked like the Cotto of old because he knew he could beat Jennings until he crapped out his organs.

I personally think Cotto is a more complete fighter now than he was two years ago, and the experience is good for him. But like I said, the fight with Pac will tell a lot about both guys.

I don't think either one beats Floyd, but I don't honestly think anyone below 154 beats Floyd right now so that's not saying much. PWill would be the most interesting fight based purely only the styles and Williams stature, but it's still a fight Floyd *should* win.

WTF?? Leonard came out of retirement to fight Hagler who at that time even at the end of his prime was still the best in the world.

Do you even know the story? Ray saw Hagler/Hearns and told Angelo beside him to get him a fight with Hagler coz he saw some holes. This was Leonard with the bad set of eyes. Leonard is a ****in Legend!

And what Lalonde mess? He beat the **** out of Golden boy Donnie

Lurker got it right. Floyd screwed himself out of a fight with an undefeated Cotto who was seen by everyone as a legit threat. Williams was looking real good and worthy after his hard earned victory over Marg where he showed a lot of heart. Marg was still in the picture and was really seen as a threat ever since Floyd moved to welter and should have been one of his first two fights there. Oscar was already in the process of moving back down to welter for a planned rematch with Floyd. Shane was coming back after he regrouped from Cotto. Quintana was still acceptable as well as Clottey and Cintron.

The point is all these guys fought each other and put some damage on each other. Floyd didn't involve himself in a very good, if not great welter group. If he was as good as he was he could have proved it. If he's not coming back to fight the current best welter in the division (Mosley), why is he back? MONEY!

To the guys who say Mosley is too old. Floyd did this by retiring, now every challenge at welter holds a stigma.
    Mosley too old.

Cotto shopworn and never the same after Marg.

Pac just too small not a welter at this time or any other.

Clottey close to the top but never reached it.

    Berto too green.

Williams now at higher weights plus was outboxed by Quintana.

See, you can do this with anyone. If no one pose a threat than why fight anyone?

Leonard was great and always fought the best. Hagler was considered the best when Leonard came out of retirement. Leonard wanted the fight after the Monzon fight, he saw the damage he took in that one.

I think he's refering to the fact that a career 175 lber. had to fight Leonard at 168 lbs. so that they could fight for two belts in two different divisions(which was and still is totally against the rules).

I would personally ike to see the fight but my point is Floyd doesn't NEED to fight a guy that's way past his prime. It holds no value except to please the fans, it means extremely little to his legacy.

I can see the recap of Floyd's career now:

    Jim Lampley:

"During Floyd's glorious P4P reign, he toppled such opponents as Hatton, Marquez, De la Hoya, and went to war with seemingly invincible Manny Pacquiao but outclassed him winning by UD. Oh yea, he beat an over the hill the Mosley too, but who cares."
