If Floyd REALLY wanted Pac next...Why would he want a Feb fight?

Uh weeks before the Pac-Marquez fight, Floyd stated that he wanted to fight on May. After the Pac-Marquez fight, Arum stated the possibility of a 4th fight between Pac and JMM could happen on May. I believe this is the reason why Floyd moved the date.

I am on Floyd's side of the argument, but i honestly don't think Mayweather would fight in Febuary and then again in May.

I obliviously don't think he'll do it :patsch

I think he's just throwing the idea out there and has a strong itch to fight

no you ***goty ****, I never said that and I obviously don't think Pac will be ready by Feb. because he just got his ass kicked by Juan

Neither of them are actively seeking the fight and you are deluded if you think otherwise.

Floyd said he wanted to fight on May 5th and to make the biggest fight possible. To make the fight with the "little fella"

Floyd says it takes 6 months to build a super fight. Fighting in February suggests it will be a warm-up/stay busy fight of some sort. His super fight will likely come later in the year, hopefully November/December to give the Pac fight a chance of happening.

That’s another thing I didn’t quite understand. If that ever so important May 5th date and venue was booked for a mega fight, then why is it now being so quickly dismissed with this February fight that Floyd’s mentioned? It proves that May 5th wasn’t the definite planned date for Pac that they claim it is. It was just a stunt to keep their options open, and give off the impression that they’re being more proactive than their counterparts. They’re learning well from Arum’s tricks. Because it seems like both sides agreed a long time ago that they’re going to milk the public for as many fights as they can, and in the meantime they’ll just engage in a competition of blaming each other for why the fight isn’t happening.

So let me get this straight, Mayweather and all of his people have announced that he will return May 5th. Schaefer came out as recently as yesterday and reiterated this, yet you believe that a 40 second audio clip where Mayweather says he's fighting in February(we don't even know if he was serious or not because we don't have the full audio), means that he won't be fighting on May 5th? Surely you know better than this. I am almost 100% sure Mayweather will not be fighting in February.

Floyd made that statement before Saturday's fight. On Monday he gave the go ahead to begin negotiations. Whether that's because he thinks Pac is softened up enough by now or whatever is a non issue..the fact is he actively went for the fight and the attempts were rebuffed by Team Pac. Besides...February was never going to happen. Maybe he's looking to get back into training in February. But most likely it was one of those spur of the moment comments and he had the itch. This is the same guy that promised to never re-enter a boxing ring in 2008.

Mayweather and his people also claim that May 5th is their date for Pacquiao, despite not even talking to Pacquiao/Arum about it first. In the meantime, they (Schaefer) have also contacted Morales about a possible fight. Between that, and Mayweather mentioning February (they’ve also previously mentioned March before this May 5th malarkey), it’s hard to get anything ‘straight’, anymore. So, I’m not trying to say they’re definitely not fighting on May 5th. I’m just saying they definitely didn’t have that May 5th date specifically for Pacquiao, and that we should stop acting like a Pac-May fight on that date is being squandered. Because it was never there in the first place.

Who books an arena for a fight that there aren't even any negotiations for?
