Didn't say he avoided Tszyu, just that he didn't fight him. As he hasn't fought Pac in the many years they've been in the same division. They were the greatest and highest rated fighters he's encountered at 140 and 147.

Mayweather could have made those fights if he really wanted them, just as he could easily fight Martinez if he wanted. Might've been bad circumstances as to why they didn't happen, but it won't look good when his record is scrutinised, especially when he fought much weaker champs like Gatti and Ortiz instead. He also killed a Winky Wright fight by demanding a rehydration clause, and instead fought Sharmba Mitchell and Judah.

If he does fight Canelo or Cotto instead of Martinez at 154 he'll be repeating the same pattern and it would be seen as a duck with Martinez willing to take the fight at that weight or even at 150. Bad move for him legacy-wise

How the hell would Mayweather made the Tzu fight when he had a contract with HBO and Tzu had one with Showtime?

Do not even get me started with Arum. Nobody is going to remember those guys at all besides MARGO being a cheater.

    Nobody will remember Sergio.

Cotto on the other hand might have a place in history and Canelo might as well only time will tell.

He will go down as an extremely talented cherry picker who always pussed out when faced with a legitimate threat.

Well according to the FMJ Haters...Of course it will hurt his Legacy Because Pacquiao and Martinez are ATG Fighters. Now also from the Haters, if FMJ beats both it will be because Pacquiao has lost a step, slowed and has decline and a smaller man. And Martinez is 37 (in Feb), So FMJ will just be picking on an older fighter.

    Hopefully that makes sense...

He HAS to fight Pac.. He doesn't have to fight Martinez but it will be debated as to why he didn't when Serge was willing to drop to 150 and May has already fought at 154. Serge will continue to dominate his division and will definitely be remembered by any real boxing fan as terrific fighter.. especially after he cleans house at middleweight n calls it a career.
