where are the people saying that floyd lies about the money he makes during fights. and the funny thing is I've heard Floyd claim around 40 million for this fight.. he was actually selling himself short. hard to believe with floyd.
this fight is going to be HUGE. i'm buying it, i know several friends around the country buying it, know people at working buying it and they themselves know friends who are buying it. Seems everyone knows at least one person who is buying/seeing it somewhere where someone else is buying it. Even then i still think it falls just short of 2 mil

Do the math: Mayweather's 2007 victory over De La Hoya earned a record $120 million for a single pay-per-view event from 2.15 million buys, and HBO told CNN that his fight with the 38-year-old Mosley is set to qualify as a true "megafight." How is mayweather going to get 60 mil out of 120mil gross pure BS. GBP doesn't get paid .The ppv company doesn't get paid . All the cost of the promotion don't get paid.
YE right! Floyd will go fight the Fly weight champ. There is no one else unless he fights Paul Williams.
How much money are they getting for the live gate? How much money are they getting from the site fee? How much sponsorship money are they getting? What about closed circuit television money? What about merchandising money? How much is HBO paying them for the liscensing fee to rebroadcast this fight? How much money are they getting from international sales? PPV sales are not the only revenue stream.
you know, that's all well and good and perfectly understandable from the fighters pov. but why the **** do you and so many of the modern fans care so much about numbers? in 30 years time are we all going to be sat in classic reminiscing about how much dough floyd made in 2010? it's ****ing dull.
The numbers will determine whether you ever get to see a fight like Floyd/PAC. If you think Floyd is going to give PAC another 50/50 if he beats Shane tonight and the ppv does 2+ million then your kidding yourselves. Considering PAC's history with purse split do you think that PAC is going to take less than half to fight Floyd? The numbers will also determine a fight that alot of people on this board would want to see like Floyd/Williams or PAC/Bradley. Floyd/PAC is not going to fight Williams/Bradley because there's no money in that. Two pretty good to great fights that will probably never be seen because of numbers.
as we both know, there is a lot more than simple numbers standing in the way of any floyd-manny showdown.
The mayweather haters are out tonight ... this is the chance they've been waiting for (atleast they think it is) ... so there will be waaaay more tuned in for this fight. I see it doing over 2m buys and being a great event ... especially if there's a stoppage along the way.
