If Floyd thinks he is TBE, he HAS TO fight Golovkin at 154

Golovkin is much too big for Floyd. He is also a very fine technician, he would cut off the ring more effectively than most of Mayweathers other opponents, and the power......
I don't think it is a fair ask mind you, either, given Mayweather started his career at 130 lbs. Some years from now, would we be saying GGG isn't great if he hasn't beaten the reigning Cruiserweight champ?
All that being said, I would actually love to see this fight, but not at 154, I don't see how GGG would lose the weight, he is a ripped 160, he would be an unhealthy 154, and that would be a disaster.
Much like the proposals for GGG vs Kovalev, I think the size differential is just too great for a real good matchup. Too bad though.

GGG has come in his last 2 fights around 172-174 he is a lot closer to Kovalevs division than Floyd's.

He doesn't need GGG. After last night he doesn't have to prove himself any longer.

Huh? What the **** are you talking about? The real question is, does Floyd deserve to be in there with GGG. I would argue NO, but Floyd is where the money is, with the casual fan.

bull, if Floyd thinks he is the greatest he should fight GGG at 160.

Hagler was 160 and SRL moved up to fight him, in those days you didn't demand that other good fighters moved down to meet ATG's, 6 pounds wasn't used as a EXCUSE not to make a fight.

By the way, i think Floyd is great,, one of the best ever, in the top ten.

However, for a guy that is so good i have never seen a guy take so few chances, if your the best ever move up 6lbs and prove it. If you are top 10 ever, move up 6lbs and prove it, your one of the best ever, you should have no problem with 6 lbs, all time greats of past never had a problem with 6 lbs, Floyd does. RJJ moved up 15lbs and won the light heavy title, then fought the toughest guys there, then he moved up to heavy some 25 plus lbs heavier and fought a title holder, Floyd wont move up 6 freaking pounds but wants to be considered better than RJJ? SRL moved up to fight Hagler? Hagler is a all time great and would be ranked far higher than GGG at this stage of GGGs career.

Lets not forget that i am not bashing Floyd, i think he is one of the top 10 all time greats, (( well from 8 to 12 on any given day, lol)),, so don't claim i am being a Floyd hater, how can you hate someone you consider a top ten fighter of all time? Yet Floyd lovers will claim a person like me is a Floyd hater because i only claim him to be a top 10 fighter of all time because they are nuts.

Good thread by the way, i agree with you other than i think it shows how SAFE Floyd plays it that you wouldn't even consider a all time great like Floyd moving up 6 extra pounds to fight a good 160 pounder :good

He is, but most probably Kovalev is higher weight than that? Didn't he rehydrate to close to 190 for both Hopkins and Jean Pascal? That would still be a 15-20 lbs difference.

If they were still on same day weigh-ins, a lot of these guys would be fighting at least 1 division above where they are now, and we probably would not have so many multi division champs.

Just my $0.02, you are right about GGG weight being at ~LHW on fight night.

too late. floyd on preemptive strike.

"im not a champion at 154 anymore" lmao.

see. there is always why floyd has no atg in his resume.
he always finds a way to avoid or lessen the threat.

this is what floyd calls "i always find away to win".

well i disagree. he finds "WAYS" to win.

there is the usada way, the vegas way and the mgm/haymon way.
