If this fight happens later this year it will be the biggest fight in boxing since...what? I am having problems thinking what, it will do the biggest ppv numbers ever but what was the last big fight as important as this?

in terms of the amount of cash it will generate around the world there has never been a bout. The last fight i remember making such a buzz was lewis-tyson.

This is the Frazier-Ali of our time.... The best fighter out there takes a couple years out of the ring and a new champion arises. One loud mouth cocky arrogant pretty boy. The other a short stocky humble god fearing man. One man a technical genius. The other a relentless southpaw bruiser with the heart of a lion..

I disagree. Floyd v shane did good numbers. That fight enhanced floyd, now add manny and his insane support and you've got three million odd buys

This fight was bigger than which fighter you simply supported, the person you supported in this fight was already chosen for you by the colour of your skin. This was not just a boxing match.

I think it is as big as Leonard-Hagler or Whitaker-Chavez was. It is certainly bigger than Trinidad-Oscar.

I may have missed it, but are the official numbers out for Floyd vs. Shane?

I would say Tito-ODLH although I think that both Floyd and Pac are at 1 level higher then Oscar ever was as a fighter. Possibly SRL-Hagler now that I really think about it.
