If Floyd vs Manny fight where would you rank this fight in terms of the biggest

Its the biggest as far as I know. Maybe not in terms of significance or public interest or the fighters involved, but in boxing terms. I cant think of any other fights where both fighters were huge draws easily the 2 most popular, the 2 best of their generation, in their prime and already established ATG.

I mean you got Duran-SRL but neither guy were as established in the ATG ranks when they fought as Pac & PBF is now.

 

Well we have two fighters in the same weightclass, who has split the boxingworld opinion 50/50 on who is the P4P#1. How often does that happen?

So i'd say it's pretty high up there!.

They should be ashamed not making it happen before one of them moves past their prime or gets beaten by someone else.

 

maybe above whitaker vs. chavez but much lower than louis-schmeling and frazier-ali. MMA is the mainstream combat sport right now.

 

that said, no combat sport is as popular as boxing used to be.

Neither Ali or Frazier were greater fighters than Pac & Floyd IMO before their fight. Some of Ali's biggest wins came after Frazier, take Frazier, Foreman, Norton, lyle off his resume and I dont think he is greater than Floyd/Pac. Frazier is not greater than either of them, specially before the ALi fight.

Schmelling is not even top 100 ATG.

Both huge fights with huge interest but probably because they were HW's. In terms of 2 established ATG's in their prime meeting up, dont think its as big.

i'm not sure i would rank it in the top 5 biggest welterweight fights of all time.

 

In my life time i put this #1 , behind Tyson Holyfield , but im 27 so what do i know , im not a student of the history of this sport , but since ive been a fan this is the #1 , be a ****in dying shame if we never see it :deal
