Both SRR and SRL and Duran all moved up in weight and fought the better men not to mention Henry Armstrong who had no Jr or Super divisions.\

Floyd may fight PAC but should he fight GGG at Middleweight like the guys I mentioned, I know GGG said he can make 154lbs and a win over GGG would speak volumes

Mayweather has moved up. He's moved up plenty. That's not the problem. He's the greatest super featherweight of all time and the current No. 1 welterweight and junior middleweight.

The problem is he lacks depth and big stylistic matchups that were there to be had.

I wouldn't penalize Mayweather one bit if he got KTFO by Golovkin or any other Top 5 middleweight—except Jermain Taylor (lulz).

It would be kind of cool if he went up and beat Cotto. He'd be the only man to ever duplicate Henry Armstrong in simultaneously holding the world championship in 3 different weight classes. And they'd all be the lineal true titles as well...

It would not matter if he moved up to middleweight or had GGG come down to 154 and lost. Dare to be great. Can't keep telling people your TBE with a pink elephant in your division and an upcoming stud right above you. It's an insult to the true greats. Too many robert Guerrero's and Marcos Maidiana's on your recent ledger to be making such claims. Not bad fighters by any means but not the type of fighter that the public who has made you the highest paid athlete wants to see or who you should be fighting. You get paid like the best you should fight the best no excuses.

I only want to see him fight Cotto, Golovkin, or honestly Canelo (I think Canelo is 10x better than he was when they first fought, and he is a tough kid, and more experienced now...and Floyd is older). Obviously Manny, too.

And honorable mention, maybe Tim Bradley? But NO Amir Khan. That would be a total slap in the face to the fans. Everyone in boxing knows WE, the fans, do not want to see Floyd fight ****in Amir Khan while he's supposed to be fighting the best of the best to break Rocky's record. I hope karma exists, boy, because if it does, Floyd has got another thing comin for robbing the fans with his bull**** opponents and boring fights, as well as flaunting his wealth and beating up his girlfriends and mother of his children.

Floyd couldn't even last a few weeks in jail without begging the judge to give him special treatment. I love reading and hearing those reports about how he was crying about being stuck in a cell all day. Shouldn't have beaten up your wife and got caught, dummy lol.

    Great post! :good

Facing Cotto again would be going over old ground and cherry-picking. He has already beat him, why fight him again?

Manny, Khan, Thurman, Bradley, Lara or GGG. Nobody else matters.

Maybe he faces Pacquiao in about one year or two, but only because he is sure that he will win. Mayweather would never face a prime Pacquiao...

I wouldn't exactly call Floyd a coward for side stepping that challenge, assuming that its ever officially made. Mayweather started his career at featherweight and is nearly 38 years of age. Not quite the same as Leonard beginning at welterweight and then challenging a guy who was equally past his prime at 159. Sure it looks great that Ray fought Hagler, but he also didn't jump as many divisions throughout his career as Floyd did and nor was he 38 taking on a destroyer at his peak.. If you want to devise a scenario that's more comparable to Floyd fighting Golovkin, then by that logic Leonard would have had to fight someone like Spinks.

Manny PAC was a lighter weight, Henry Armstrong, Charles, Duran but I agree with you I would not call him a coward if he avoided this fight but it is still an opportunity for him to really boast his resume should he win. It is a fight I would like to see but I am a fan of both men. GGG should stay at 160, Floyd at 147-154 but that fight would be BIG $$$$$$

The notion of them fighting at this point is borderline ludicrous.. But assuming Floyd pulled off the upset of the decade, the next thing some of these idiots would start chanting is " Kovalev"

I'm with Magoo. That could be a t-shirt, btw.

Mayweather is old. For him to move up and fight Golovkin is something we'd want to see, but it isn't something he has to do.

He fought Canelo when Canelo was looking great. After that, anything he does is a cherry on top.

Thing is, he could win against Golovkin. He'd have to take hellish punishment, but he could do it.

Floyd will not fought ANYONE that would put his coveted `0` at risk. He hasn,t done it up to this point. For years it,s been about padding the record (minimum risk as possible) and building his bank account. Genuine bragging rights that the Hearns, Hagler,s and Duran and SRL have no meaning to `Money`. Honestly, I don,t see Canelo as a big `victory`... Did,t do much before their fight and had his hands full with Lara... There wil be zero risk taking for Floyd, fact.

I think its a fight Floyd can not win and for that reason I can understand him staying where he is, GGG too much at this stage

I think the logical fight would have been with Pac and for some reason he avoided that one and that would have been a Big win. Now IF Manny can get past Algieri that fight will be on the table but it seems like both Floyd and Manny are now long in the tooth with Manny showing more battle wear and both not showing much power of late
