If Floyd was willing to fight anybody, would he have a loss?

I was there at the Home Depot. Look at the pic in my profile. Paul beat Margarito and begged and begged Margarito to fight him again to take his belt back. Have you ever seen the winner beg the loser for a rematch? Bob Arum even sent Goosen a letter saying he didn't want to be contacted again about a PW-Marg rematch. He decided to take the easy route and fight Shane instead... OopS! :hi:

So yeah, he shamelessly ducked a rematch that he should have been clamoring for.

Nevermind! I guess they took our profile pics down, too! :patsch

    The thing about Williams is

Some nights he looked like the greatest boxer of all time

You know that scared the crap out of floyd

    He never mentioned Williams

Even when Paul called him out and said floyd only fought tin cans and women (lol!)

That, "Non stop punching" wouldnt exist against Floyd. Mayweather would outbox him worse than Lara did and he wouldnt get robbed.

See, that was another one my concerns... The Lara fight. Floyd could have done what Lara did.

But there are some differences in Lara and Floyd. Lara is a taller Southpaw, and Paul has only ever had trouble with Southpaws. Just dismal against them, although he was one himself. (Quintana 1, Martinez 2, Lara)

Makes you wonder why PW would beg for a rematch if he really thought he wond the fight:think

Regardless, PW went out and lost immediately to Quintana so while he was busy trying to avenge that loss Margarito went on to bigger and better fights with Cotto and Mosley!

But we digress, the issue was why did Floyd duck Williams?:deal

 That's not how it happened. You got the timeline somewhat mixed up.

Right after he whipped Margo's ass, he wanted Cotto or a Margo rematch. Margo didn't want a rematch, he wanted to protest the results of the first fight instead. (bitch move)

Then when Shane and Cintron (who won his belt on the same night as PW) ducked him he decided to take Quintana. After he took 13 Rounds to sort that **** out, he was still going after Cotto and Margarito, but Arum was like "No way"

And if you remember correctly, Shane wasn't a big time fight for Margo. It was a fight against a guy who was supposedly washed up and had just finished a lackluster fight with Mayorga. It was at that time Paul was saying "Hey, why not unify the belts if you think you won the first fight?" But he decided to duck him instead.

And Floyd ducked him, too. But he wasn't as shameless as Margarito and Cotto and Shane.

Margo's ducking was straight shameless. He knew by round 8 that he couldn't beat Paul. The best he could do was give us a good show, then complain about only performing in the 2nd half of a title fight.

Nothing wrong with the timeline and you're taking some liberties with the truth. FLoyd ducked PW no doubt.

Margarito fought PW=FACT. Margarito ducked the rematch=Your OPINION.

PW got ass kicked by Quintana right after the Margarito fight=FACT

While PW is trying to avenge that loss Margarito is getting ready to fight
    COTTO=FACT

COTTO was a bigger fight than PW=FACT

    The timeline is right on=FACT

Your timeline actually isn't much different from mine, so I stand corrected slightly.

Slight difference, though. Right after the second Quintana fight is when Margo had already signed to and went on to beat Cotto a month later. Then the foolishness started.

That's when the letters were going back and forth. Wait. There was no back and forth. It was all one way. That's when Paul kept calling out Margo and Arum kept saying NO. That's when Arum sent Goosen the letter telling him not to contact him anymore. That's when Margarito (after claiming he won the first fight, then claiming he started slow) decided to go after a non-titlist in Shane for an easy payday.

All that is just hearsay and conjecture on your part so I won't even go into it.

But the fact is Mosley was still a bigger name than Williams and that fight made more sense. Even though SSM was not prime he had just come out of a high visibility loss ( a lot of people think he won) over Cotto and a win over Mayorga. Williams was flying under the radar with fights ove KOlle and Phillips.

Williams was the title holder at the time.

And no, that is not conjecture. It's fact. I wish someone could find a link to the article about Goossen and Arum and their back and forth at that time. I'm going to look for it.
