nope. the fact that he insists on having the advantage (143lb catchweight) is what pisses me off.

Marquez doesn't have to add weight. He can just weigh in as his fight night weight and be at 143. While Floyd will cuts a few lbs.

    How is it?

If Floyd on fight night at 135/140 weighs 147. (Just like when hes at 147)

What is the advantage / difference between 140 and 147? for Floyd

I don't get the hate for Floyd taking on JMM.

JMM called him out. Floyd coming DOWN in weight, even to 143, is more then enough. Hell if JMM realy wanted him why not make it 147. Don't call out someone then make all these exception. JMM wnated teh fight and Floyd obliged to a 143 catch weight.

:huhbut if they fight at 147-hed be even more that that fight night. And JMM would be putting on a lot of weight to fight.

at 135-which is never going to happen, i doubt he comes in that much bigger than marquez and marquez would be fighting at the weight hes comfortable in.

I may have misssed something here, sorry im not sure of the question

lol :rofl you do know that if the fight is at 135/140 then floyd has to make weight right? Going down in weight drains the hell out of you just ask delahoya. That would give marquez an advantage that is why he wanted the fight at 140 lbs.

No I wouldn't. I'm not mad right now, but the thing is the higher the weight, the bigger the advantage for Floyd. Do you disagree, Floyd lover? :blurp

You think someone adds even more weight than what they cut from when they rehydrate.

Of course, Marquez can just weigh in at 143 lbs, while Mayweather weighs in at 144 lbs and climbs to 150 lbs by fight time.

The theory to weighing in at 140 lbs, is to limit the pounds Mayweather will move up to by fight time so that both fighters are within the same weight range when they step in the ring.

Mayweather being the younger, quicker and faster fighter is at an advantage anyways......anyone that wants to see a great fight wants to to see those advantages limited so that the chances for a great fight increase.

Here's my thoughts on the weight issue.....

If both fighters weigh in at 140 lbs, Marquez likely weighs 143-144 lbs fight time.
Mayweather likely hydrates to the Welterweight limit at 147 lbs.

.....but having the fighters weigh in at 144 lbs, thats 3 more added pounds that Mayweather will likely hydrate to......Mayweather likely walks in the ring at 150 lbs if he weighs in at 144 lbs.

Mayweather is all muscle, he has a very low body fat %, so having Mayweather come down to 140 lbs, is taking away 3 lbs of muscle on him.......Mayweather is going to be that much stronger than Marquez with those added 3 pounds of rock solid muscle.

:? You mean... you don't know? Really?
How involved an answer do you need? My AIM handle's right there if you need somebody to draw a map for you.

You don't fight at your walking around weight. Rewatch Clottey v. Corrales if you want the most glaring example I can think of off-hand. Mr. Peanut came into the ring 170-ish in that one.
