If Floyd went to down 135 to fight Marquez would you still be mad?

No , that would be ok then. He would not have the strength advantage of fighting higher for years. He has opponents he could fight at welterweight like Shane and he picks Marquez who is two divisions lower.

Are you completely unaware of the whole point/concept of weight classes??

If he weighs 140 the day before the fight, that's seven pounds less of extra muscle that he'd have on than he would if he weighed 147 the day before the fight. Weight that's gained at the last minute through rehydrating is not the same as muscle that's already been comfortably put on and kept on.

So. It's unfair that Floyd doesn't have to cut weight? That's the whole advantage, thats why this is completely unfair?

Well thank god he has to cutweight to make 144. And by your definition he doesn't have any other advantage.

    Good points.

My guess is the Floyd fans think that his greatness makes factors like those you mentioned meaningless. Not to say he isn't great, we're talking about one truly gifted fighter here, but he could easily make people shut up by not using "advantages" like these.

No what im saying is if the fight is at 135 or 140 lbs then floyd has to make the weight limit. Fighting at a weight class he hasn't fought in years will be a disadvantage for him. Much like if pac had to go down and fight at 126 lbs where he hasn't fought since 2004.

    7lbs less of muscle?

Floyd weighs less than 150 when he fights at 147.

He'd just cut water weight. Theres no muscle loss.

Void can make 140 lbs, but he won't, not even with "his" judges and referee. Void wants Christy Martin to come out of retirement ASAP!

Because he hasn't been willing to fight the guys who called him out that he wouldn't have to cut weight for.

If he doesn't wanna fight below 147, why doesn't he fight one of the top contenders there, ie: Paul Williams?

I can guarantee eze is not stupid, he'll just never admit something bad/negative about Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Look I would love to see Floyd fight real 147 fighters and accept other guys challenge. I wish he would fight real fighters at the 147 lb weight but I can't make any excuses if he accepts a fight that someone challenged him to. JMM got exactly what he wanted. Even better cause Floyd is coming down in weight.

How so? Strength advantage? You think he loses that by cutting 7lbs?

Why is this size thing so blown out of proportion when the size difference between Marquez and Floyd is smaller than Floyd-Cotto/Mosley

Floyd doesn't have to go down that far. He hasn't been a lighweight for a while now. He's a welter. 144 is fair enough. People saying that he is fighting a smaller guy is nonense because Floyd use to fight at 130.

    * ahem *

But he's big at WW vs Marquez. That's an advantage, me thinks.
