Legacy incomplete, maybe in the eyes of a cotto fan or something...lmao, he has already made HISTORY and he has solidified his spot in the hall of fame, one good "coulda, shoulda" fight cannot make or break some ones legacy. Especially someone who has climbed to the top of 6 different weight classes.

I'll give you Corrales b/c at the time, he was undefeated. Beating the **** out of Gatti doesnt make you great. DLH was a quality fighter, but you ahve to take into consideration that he is really a part-time fighter. He was not in his prime at all.

Outside of winning belts, I truly believe Mayweathers competition level maybe slightly better than Cotto's. What I'm saying is that if you take Mayweather's top 10 opponents and match them to Cotto's top 10 opponents, mayweather may win by maybe 2 fighters.

Making history is not the same thing as being an all time great fighter. He is a great fight, but he can not be considered in the top 5 all time because his level of competition has been terrible since entering the 140 lb division.

If he does not fight cotto, you cannot call him a coward. His body of work is already impressive.

Is that his fault?!!!!!! WHO IS THERE TO FIGHT?!!!! And like i already said how many fighters and their trainers would sign a mayweather fight. I dont even think half of the top 10 in any of the weight divisions he is king of would even sign it. You never even though about his skill level..........he is good enough to where he makes some opponents look AVERAGE. HALL OF FAME,thats where he's headed after he retires.

you make history when YOU ARE A GREAT FIGHTER. You act like YOU could accomplish what floyd has accomplished. Its not easy, always training, dieting, making weight, fighting in front of someone elses home crowd, being 38-0, and that is just half of what it takes to be a great fighter. Floyd accomplishments, skill level is the other half. Floyd is not the only fighter out there doing that either, There are a plethera of talented fighters that are out there but we are talking about floyd and his legacy

Ask yourself this....if money was not a option in a fight you name one top 10 or any fighter in MAYWEATHERS era that would fight him......for no pricetag, anybody can say in a interview after their fight "i'll fight anybody". Mayweather has accomplished all that he could, what does he need to prove now? Hes done everything. There is ONLY COTTO left.

very true.....you dont need a 40-0 record to be the best ever or ATG.....you need to beat the best in your era to be on that level. Was Henry Bruseles, Emmanuel Augustus, Manfredy, Carlos Baldomir, Chop Corley, Shramba Mitchel the best of our era?:deal :deal :deal

He beats Hatton, then they will say he has to fight cotto or else his running, then he beats Cotto and they will say he has to beat Williams, then he beats Williams and they will say he has to beat the next superstart whoever it might be at the time, and so on and so on untill he gets beats by a nobody due to his age or physical abilities etc, then they will just trow him in the pot with the rest of them.
