No. I don't think so. He'd still be marginally behind Pac. But if FMJ put in a sensational performance, he'd be knocking at the door, so to speak.
This. If Floyd beats Mosley's ass then it would be hard to argue that Floyd is #1. If he squeeks out a boring UD or the fight is close, Pac comfortably remains number 1.
If Mayweather beats Mosley...I would consider that a bigger victory than that of Pacquiao over Clottey. Does this mean Mayweather should be elevated above Pacquiao in the P4P rankings...doubt it. I have Mosley and Pacquiao joint #1 in the WW rankings, I guess you could argue if Floyd beats Molsey, Floyd could be #1 in the WW rankings...or at least joint #1 along with Pacquiao. But the only way I see Mayweather overtaking Pacquiao in the P4P rankings is if he beats him after beating Molsey, or if that bout doesn't materialize, then pull out a "bigger" victory over a highly rated opponent. It's all opinion based though...Mayweather fans will argue Floyd should be #1 if he beats Mosley. Whereas Pacquiao fans will argue Floyd needs to beat Manny to take the #1 spot.
Pacquaio was never number one in my eyes anyway...when Floyd retired he and mARQUEZ WAS 1a and 1b the fight could have gone either way and he never beat Marquez convincingly
Nice thinking noob! So you also mean to say you had Calzaghe as p4p #1 with a better undefeated record than Floyd Jr 2 years ago?
That's absolutely true. But Pac has earned that spot now with his last few wins. If Floyd beats Shane convincingly say KO or near shutout, that would earn my serious conideration.
Not becuase he improved but since that fight Marquez has been in a war with Diaz and got thoroughly outclassed by Mayweather so, I wouldnt be surprised. Honestly Pac-Man hasnt fought a dynamic fighter since he fought Marquez at 130, its not hard to look good against slow plodders, since moving up Diaz, Hatton, corpse of DLH, Cotto, and Clottey all slow of foot. Matchmaking IMO, I have been a fan of Manny for a long time and those great improvements people speak of I dont see. He is still a sucker for the straight right, cant fight going backwards, his jab is virtually none existent, but he did improve his punching repertoire:good
