...Beating Mosley is infinitely more impressive than beating Clottey. Anything short of a Whitaker/Chavez-like decision, then Floyd will be the man at 147 if he defeats Mosley, because Mosley is currently the best there. How are we not getting this?

Because thats not what i was asking, i simply said Im waiting for people to say he needs to beat Pac, does that sound like a question to you?
I think a Mosley win makes him number one, if people arse raped someone like Berto like they do Pac i`d expect the same.

Floyd has to beat Shane, Pacquiao, Rampage Jackson and Brock Lesner to get any respect from "Casual Fans" or as they are known by their given name: ESB POSTERS.

Easy there big guy, I was merely posing a twist to the question. I too think Floyd will be the man no matter how he beats Shane, if he does.

Or not fight anyone at all for the other half that ride his nuts like the lone ranger on tonto because he's simply "better".

I think its fair in this case to put the winner of the Ring's 2 and 3 to leap frog to the number one position and then should Manny actually beat Clottey - IF Floyd and Manny fight then that will be for the Ring Welter championship.

Likewise should Shane win, he will be number 1 welter.

Depends on how he looks in attaining victory. The Pac-Clottey fight also remains as a considerable factor as to who how the public will perceive who "the man" is at ww.

not a hater..just lookin at the facts...

    like all three fighters...

but pbf..wins.....he will be the man ...@ ww...and probably regain his..#1 p4p rankin....for fighting the #2..and..#3..p4p fighters...in his two fights back..were pac...next fight isnt as much of a challenge or risk...that..mosley..and pbf....fight is..

and if pbf....ppv #'s are higher...

that fight will be harder to make...becuase floyd would want the bigger purse...and becuaase of their last fights.....he fought tougher comp...and still would want the test(blood)

arum should of never walked from the table....

but regardless..now the picture is set.....

cant wait to watch it unfold

Without thinking about the title, you know the whole "margo beat cotto, mosley beat margo", is Floyd still the #1 welter if he beats Mosley in a super close fight? And if Pacquiao absolutely destroys Clottey who has never been beaten convincingly? I would say they would be close.

The man right now is Mosley, if Mayweather beats him then is def. a big yes. This is fight taking place at 147, no catchweights, both guys will be healthy with no weight worries. A true welterweight match. This is the fight i've been waiting for.

Was Barrera still the best at 126 when he scraped past Morales whilst Marquez was destroying Robbie Peden?
