Let's see, if Pac anniliates Clottey and PBF dances to a easy decision, is PBF the man. I think a Clottey fight vs Mosley would not be easy just like the Cotto vs Mosley. Pac is beating the **** out of opponents. That Cotto fight was hard to watch. So if just say PBF beats fighters like Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, etc with his boxing and Pac steam rolls all mentioned, is PBF the man. I have read so much from posters loving Pac and PBF, but I just love boxing and the best challenges. Pac and PBF winner equals the man.

I am as big an FMJ fan as any, but I would go a step further and say that even if it is a Baldomirish UD and your result against Clottey happens Pac would be the man.

In my eyes, Pac is good, but his latest fights haven't made me say wow. If he KOs Josh Clottey? WOW! The only way Mayweather could be considered "the man" at 147 is to face Pac.

I say that still believing Mayweather is the better fighter of the two, but damn Pac would be officially "The Man"!

(He would have to get off that A-Side Meth though!) :yep

Hmm. Depends. Was Morales closer to his prime at that time than Mosley now? I think so, he still had plenty enough to beat Manny 2 years after. I think Margarito is overrated. Mosley is more past it than Erik was. And I think Clottey is better than Peden was.

But it was just a question and I wasn't sure myself.

If it's a Baldomirish UD, ugly or not, he shut out Mosley and he would be #1 in my opinion. Unless Mosley gets KTFO or something by Clottey or loses to him decisively. I know it's ABC logic, but it does help sometimes.

You know what would be sweet....if Floyd and Pac actually fought to decide that. this he beat him who beat the other guy **** is worse than the BCS rankings ffs. Been waiting 20 yrs for a fight like this to come off.

I'm not sure how Margo ever became the man at Welterweight. He lost to PW and probably had loaded gloves against Cotto, maybe Clottey as well. Before that SSM was on a noticeable decline. Floyd dominates him. I think Pac will be in for a tough fight and if Clottey ever lets his hands go, he could be very dangerous.

    I see your point.

Maybe I misunderstood, but being "The Man". Pac's whole claim to fame is by beating sloppy seconds "more impressively" than Mayweather. Cotto UDed Mosley. Who KOed Clottey? That would be an impressive first.

Comparing the two feats I would have to grudgingly give the nod for most impressive to Pac and move FMJ into #2.

    Just an opinion though.

I hate Floyd but he can be considered the best at welterweight but remember, he is still #2 P4P and people only see the main man.

If he beats Mosley, then yes he'll be the man at welter. P4P though, I think he'll have to face pac to settle that score.

Huh? There is no way Mayweather could make 140 anymore. So I have no idea who you think should be at 140 since there is also no way Mosley is getting down to 140.

Knowing how well stocked with good/great fighters the WW division is.... your question is UNFAIR!!!!

But a SIMPLE answer to your COMPLEX question would be a.....DEFINITE "MAYBE"!!!!!

If you would allow me to use this "spectrum" of posibility (with PBF winning):

On one end of the spectrum is --- PBF run/dance and jabs all night but Mosley can't get any shot in......PBF wins by UD but a win nonetheless. He will recieving a lot of recognition and credibility as a WW in my eyes but would still not be the MAN!!!

The other end of the spectrum is --- PBF stands in the "pocket", not get hit or gets hit and takes it and KO's Mosely, say in 6 rnds.... PBF wins with a very impressive win.
At this point it would be quite obvious that he would be the "MAN".

Uh, no I take that back...... HE would be my "MAN"!!!!:thumbsup

But we all know that the actual fight will happen in between the two extremes....that's why we all like to watch the fights to happen in the ring.

If he wins with an impressive UD, I will still hold a little reservation (maybe just a little) until I see him fight Pacquiao.

And with that last scenario (if it happens), I am "authorizing" HBO PPV to charge an extra $10.00 per subscription!!!:smooch
