If Floyd's a ducker or avoider - so is Miguel Cotto

Actually, not cleaning up his division is the exact thing Joy is criticised for, which makes this whole thread a bit of a farce.

Cotto just fought Mosley who had beat the **** out of Collazo and now he's gonna fight the winner between Margarito and Cintron.

He's already beaten Cintron in a blowout.

how is he a ducker in any way?

The division was cleaned up by Corey Spinks, he then lost to Zab Judah, Judah then lost to Baldomir, and Baldomir lost to PBF.

There is clarity in the WW division ... the champion is PBF ... I don't know what you're talking about -- The division has already been cleaned up years ago before Floyd moved up. He doesn't need to clean up an already clean WW division.

There was an offer for Cotto v Mayweather when both guys were at 140 and team Cotto and TopRank declined.

He fought an old Mosley who was just expected to put up a fight, but stood no chance of beating the younger Cotto.

The fight between Cotto and the Margarito v Cintron winner should solidify his status as the number 2 guy.

He's yet to beat a champion and take his belt ... he's fought 2wice for a vacant belt and beat a bunch of fillers. If you take a deeper look into his resume ... and you watched him throughout his career ... you would notice that his resume isn't all what its cracked up to be.

His most significant win is against Carlos Quintana ... all the others might have had a name - but were just fighting off their name and weren't a legit threat to Cotto.

If Mosley stood no chance then why were the oddsmakers giving even odds on a Cotto win? Mosley had just beat the **** out of Collazo, the guy who practically beat Hatton. To say he has no chance of beating Cotto is rediculous. The bookies would have gone broke which we know is not the case.

The whole P4P thing is nothing but BS. Floyd is a great boxer. But he hasn't have a real fight since 2002. I hate that fact and want see him fight a real WW like Cotto. Not matters who wins. But in a way I can't blame Floyd. He is better businessman than boxer. He is making his money. At the end thats whats important. Since fans forget very easily. But I just want to see a real fight. CAn't blame me for that.

the whole p4p thing is not BS. The whole point of P4p is to determine who are the best fighters in the world. Obviously Mayweather is a better fighter at Welterweight than Sultan Ibragimov is at Heavyweight, right? Just because its harder to determine who is better between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto doesn't mean that its BS.

Cotto has fought 5 or 6 #1 ranked challengers. Two of them got their three of them have become world champions after losing to Cotto. The offer for the Floyd/Cotto fight was made just as you say. But it was Floyd Mayweather who said Cotto was to green to fight him. Wich IMO was right at the time.

To bring the betters in ...
He didn't beat the **** out of Collazo ... I got that fight on tape and Collazo hurt his hand during that fight. Louie still had his moments ... Mosley was taking some flush unneccessary shots ...
You act as if he knock Collazo out or something.

It ain't ridiculous ... you think that TopRank would put Cotto in the ring w/ Mosley if they thought they he was going to blow Cotto away.

    Hell no

I want you to name 5 or 6 #1 ranked challengers ... I know that they weren't ring magazine or WBO #1 ranked challengers.

I use the universal rankings ... I don't go by sanctioning rankings ... but even so I highly doubt that Cotto has that many #1 ranked (by WBO) challengers.

Especially not by the WBA ... the only ranked #1 ranked opponent by the WBA was Oktay Urkal ... everyone else has been voluntary defenses.

You are a Champion at a certain weight at a time. PERIOD. The P4P is just a promotional thing. It sounds good and makes good TV commercials. Thats it.

to bring the betters in and then lose millions of dollars? yes now that makes sense. Lets give good odds on Cotto, who we know will win EASILY, so that we can bring the betters in and then lose millions of dollars when Cotto wins.

Mosley dominated Collazo. Hand excuses are just that. Mosley won 10 or 11 rounds and even put Collazo on his ass. I saw the fight and Collazo was outclassed. The same Collazo who went life and death against Hatton

No I don't think Top Rank will put Cotto in w/ Mosley if they thought he was gonna blow Cotto away. What kind of dumb comment is that? Do you really think that either Mosley was gonna blow Cotto out, or he has absolutely no chance. Is your mind such that you can only grasp extremes, and are unable to see whats in between?

I think Collazo gave Mosley a bit of grief, certainly not as much as he gave Hatton, and think he is very underrated by all on here, particularly the Yankeedoodles!
