If Forrest Griffin defeats Anderson Silva, I'll be thrilled.

Mainly, because of things like this...

"What Anderson Silva needs is to be pushed, and I’m certainly the guy to do that. I’m gonna fight hard, I’m gonna fight smart, I’m not gonna pitter-patter, I’m not gonna run. I’m gonna fight. Am I the guy to beat Anderson Silva? Why not, somebody’s gotta do it – it might as well be me.

It'd be nice if he did. However... I don't see how he can quite frankly.

I don't either, but I'd love it to.

Well... Forrest Griffin doesn't suck, so he has a chance. Just not a very strong one.

yep, I didn't think he would beat Rampage but he came in with a good game plan and it worked.

forrest griffin is a very good fighter himself. plus the fight is happening in his own division. so i wouldn't be surprised. surprised to some extent maybe, but not entirely surprised

i love forrest griffins attitude about this. the attitude is kinda like the one buster douglas had going into the fight with mike tyson although silva isnt nearly as daunting as tyson was. id like to see forrest do it, it will be interesting whatever the outcome though silva shouldnt be able to walk over griffin like he has in some of his fights or sleepwalk through griffin like his last fight

as much as i like griffin i cant see him having a chance at all in this fight silva will just take it easy the first round like he always does just to see what type of game plan griffin has come up with then in the second round he will go all out on him and finish him although i hope im proven wrong on this one

I think Forrest would beat Franklin and Henderson (maybe) so he has as good a chance as anyone else Silva has ever fought.

Forrest has a good shot at beating him imo.. I can't believe the odds on this fight.

Forrest is a really big LHW.. i think he will be able to drag Anderson to the ground.

The UFC just cant get Silva over as a genuine star.

Believe me if Chuck Liddell had fights like Silva did with Cote or Leites (worst fight EVER) he would have had problems getting to be a star.

He was a huge star! I have friends that don't even follow UFC but have said to me "oh **** is that skinny black dude fighting?!?! That guy is ...."

His last couple of fights have turned people off though.

If Silva fights like he did against Cote and Leites, I think Forrest will beat him. Griffin is a good fighter just not elite. Griffin is also a very large LHW. He is a live under dog.
