Froch's a good fighter, good as if tough and headstrong but he will have his hands full with AA. I like this fight because it's a great story, both fighters coming back from losing their 0 against the toughest competition the division has to offer. Who is mentally tougher? I think that will decide the fight.
Agree fully, also think they will both be able to start mentally strong in the belief that they are going to KO the other. The mental test will come as round after round passes and no one is KO'd (presuming they aint ofc). As this doubt begins to creep in and they question there ability to actually KO the other guy, this is where we will see who is the true warrior. Maybe both , maybe neither or maybe just one.
Not going to like him more or less. He is an ok fighter but not a great one. Froch is not mobile enough to beat AA, if he fights the way he usually fights I expect Froch to get Ko'd within 7. I would be very surprised if he lasts the full 12. Froch is a limited fighter, I think the only fighter that's worst than him in the super 6 is Allan Green.
I actually favor Froch in a fight against AA. If Froch just learned to fight a tad more defensively and keep his guard (or at least one hand) up in the 2nd half of the fight. Still, with a tiny bit of discipline he should be able to win a UD12 against Abraham.
I never did like Froch to begin with, both talent-wise and personality. However he has begun to slowly grow on me with his attitude, and I am glad there is a personality like him in this tournament. However if I was a Froch fan, I'd be worried about his current mental state. He was once sturdy and immovable in this department, but since that loss to Kessler, he's begun showing serious signs of deteriorating confidence (complaining about venues, threatening to pull out etc). Having the longer reach (I presume) will help him for sure, but what will happen when King Arthur begins to turn the heat up in the latter rounds? We saw how dejected he was once Kessler began walking him back - how will he react to the much more resilient, better conditioned, and aggressive Arthur Abraham? The only way I can see Froch winning this, is by building up the early rounds where Abraham is still warming up, and then resisting the urge to trade in the latter part of the fight (and try to box and move just a little bit), a period in which we know Abraham will be looking for blood
I would give him a lot of credit. AA couldn't be stopped with a broken jaw and whilelosing a quart of blood. if Froch KO's him, mad props to him. I won't like him anymore personality - wise, he is delusional and annoying.
He is NOT going to. There is NO if's or but's about it. Froch has made quite a bit of money by joining this tourney. Just watching his body language after the Kessler fight, he looks like a guy that realises he is in way over his head in this tournament. AA is one of the hardest guys in the sport. He is going to drag Froch into the trenches and Froch will oblige (as that's all Froch knows). The one person Froch should not engage a war in is AA. Stylewise Dirrell was all wrong for him whereas Froch is all right for him. Froch has now been beaten (for the second time IMO) and will be a new father. I think this is an excellent time to fade him and I believe AA has opened only the very slight favourite. I love the value there. The only concern here is if Froch can steal the first 4 or 5 rounds by fighting smart with his jab and keeping AA at bay. Still Froch is not busy enough or talented enough to keep AA off him. He does have a strong chin and he may be able to hang on for the debatable decision but I cannot see it happening. Froch's aura has gone, he is a new dad and I wonder has his appetite for the sport can as well now that he a) has made money and b) won and defended a world title. I will be playing AA big when the fight comes, no tougher guy in boxing right now.
