H2H calzaghe would have taken all 12 rounds. He is just a more complete boxer. Froch gets by on heart and grit.

The kessler fight was a clear enough win for Kessler.

    joe calzaghe was not.....

    he took his ball home.....

froch constantly called him out and all joe said was its about the money, maybe there was truth in that.......

but we all know it was more about the mythical "0":good

Yep it's easy to look back in hindsight, but I rate both of them highly. I just think their 2 totally different people, what I mean by that is Froch I truelly believe is driven by wanting to be the best and take his talent as far as he possibly can. Calzaghe was only ever in it for money in my opinion.

In 20 years time I'll say prime vs prime Calzaghe UD, but I'll appreciate Froch's achievements more.

Froch was a nobody fighting Polish bums at the time. He would have beaten Froch soundly.

No argument at all there Tam. Calzaghe and Froch are made from different stuff in that regard but if you look at the dates and where each fighter was in their careers its hard to blame Calzaghe retiring without fighting Froch.

Like I say, no one gave much of a **** at the time and that says it all really.

I get that you don't like Calzaghe but the "calling out" is neither here nor there. Of course Froch was calling him out, before the Super 6, Calzaghe was his meal ticket, win or lose. That doesn't mean Calzaghe has to drop everything and fight what was at the time a up and comer when he had better options to earn before he retired at 38 years old.

"Calling out" is playground stuff and usually doesn't usually even tell 5% of the story behind fights happening or not happening., **** knows why so many fans attach so much importance to it.

Naa I know I agree with you, at the time I didn't think much of Froch either.

Now though I would've loved it to have happened:mad:

Beating a Tough MW Champ Would have been a good W on his record! compared too RJJ. Which I agree Cal Would have won! So If 10 mil was going to cal u think they would have split That 50/50? Frank and Cal that is?

I dont know how that works, but The local press was blowing it up over here and Loew/Arum/Pav Never Denied it!

I've no idea of the ins and outs of the deal or even if the £10M offer is true but promoters/ managers are usually on around 30% over here.

And remember that £10 million has got to go through W@rren first before it reaches Calzaghe at a time when W@rren still owed Calzaghe money from previous fights. Calzaghe later sued for, and was awarded, over £2M in unpaid fight fees (which W@rren is still avoiding paying I think).

I think from Calzaghes point of view, in his last fight, there was a lot to be said for him co-promoting Calzaghe-Jones and making sure he definitly got out of the game with £5M rather than taking a chance on how much of £10m he ended up seeing after the vultures had been at it.

"A bird in the hand...." and all that.

Like I say, I don't pretend to know the exact figures etc but thats broadly what happened.

    This content is protected
was in the newspapers mocking Calzaghe for giving Jones a 50/50 split, he said he would have got Calzaghe at least 60/40 but that was missing the point. To Calzaghe 50% and no Frank

was a better bet than 60%+ with
