If Froch Beats Johnson/Ward then Bute, does that make him greater than Calzaghe?

If he does that, then avenges his loss against Kessler, he could lay claim to being the greatest SMW of all time, never mind surpassing Joe.

resume & legacy wise of course. even just winning the super 6 would. but i still think Joe would have his number. I fancy Joe to beat any fighter to every fight at 168lbs prime for prime.

That's a bold claim. Roy Jones Jr?

RJJ and Toney included that's a big claim.

I voted no, because the questions was "does that make him greater than Calzaghe."

I think that Calzaghe has the better resume, by a whisker, at present but if Carl beats Ward and Bute then there would be no arguments on resume.

    I'm sure Joe would win a UD head-to-head, prime-to-prime.

Froch isn't far off Calzaghe already in my opinion.

its funny that now calzaghe has retired all these fans come out of nowhere.

when he was fighting a few years back there were only a few of us who put our necks on the line arguing with people in the general forum about how good joe really is.

It makes you think how historically poor the super middleweight division is, if the greatest to have reigned there was Joe Calzaghe.

The truth as always takes the middle ground he is 2nd best after RJJ although both Ward or Froch could go ahead of him p4p but not h2h.

Froch's back to back CV of who he boxed is far better than Joe Calzaghe's...:yep

I still think that the style of both fighters would have made me go in favour of Calzaghe if they would have ever met at 168...:bbb

Stylewise you have to acept that Froch would probably struggle against Cal H2H but people remember warriors and i think boxing fans will remember Froch for longer if he carries on as he has been. Its a crime that he isnt better known.

Jones Jnr, Toney and the rest. I just think Joe always had the style to beat those guys. Toney would be a very very tough fight but i would favour joe.

Its a big claim but when you look at it, at 168lbs at Joe at his best was unstoppable.

If Froch never fights again he'll be better than Calzaghe...... Froch wants to and does fight the best
