Will this make him p4p number 3?. I ask this because i see a good ammount of people rating ward in the top 5 and even suggesting he will be number 1 after floyd and pacman quit. So if Froch beats ward are all these people going to say Froch is p4p number 3? , or will excuses be made and life will go on like the fight never happened?
Ward isn't near any real boxing fan's P4P lists. Froch is in most balanced people's top ten on merit. Froch stops Ward, schools the cheating little ****er, and america forgets who he ever was and jumps on the next hypetrain. (see Kelly Pavlik, Chad Dawson, etc)
I like both fighters, but if Dirrel was able to give Froch a tough fight without throwing many punches, I don't see how he wins against Ward. Froch needs to be worried about old man Johnson before he even thinks about Ward.
I say yes. You can make a case that Froch got robbed in the Kessler fight but i thought Dirrell beat Froch. But in any case if Froch wins this tournament, he should be in the top 3 p4p cause look at his resumes, it be wins over Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Abraham, Johnson, Ward. <<<That's a better resume then Pacquiao.
There are (or should be) two elements to determining if someone is a top P4P fighter: 1)Resume and 2)Ability/talent. IMO, you need both to be considered a top P4P fighter. Froch has the resume at this point, no doubt. But he lacks the ability and talent to be considered a truly great fighter. It's sorta like how Marciano isn't really on anybody's Top 10 HW list despite being the only one to retire undefeated. Sometimes you can tell greatness just by looking at it. You look at, say, Calzaghe and the way he operates in the ring and you see greatness. You look at Froch and, sadly, you do not. That is why he won't be making any P4P lists. In a way, Froch has benefitted as much stylistically throughout his career as Abraham. And as soon as the Abraham blueprint was released and a lineup of fighters who could follow it emerged, Abraham was finished. I get the same sense with Froch, that Dirrell also put together the blueprint to beat him, and that defensively-oriented boxer with a lot of movement could best Froch outside of England.
Yeah jones v si-hun was a robbery! Diaz v malignaggi etc etc deffo NOT Kessler v froch! However froch DID beat Kessler that night IMO
they should look at the Ring's top ten, no sight of Ward to make an arguement http://www.ringtv.com/ratings/
