I think they refused Bute-Froch because Bute has only one fight with them. The risk to lose Ward-Bute to HBO was too high. Interbox can not say yes to an extension unless they are assured that Ward will also be on Showtime. Botomline, if Ward accepts to fight Bute, if he beats Froch first, Bute will sign an extension with Showtime and both fight could happen.

Let's see what comes out of Monday, point at which Bedard is sitting down with Showtime and possibly reps from Teams Froch & Ward. I still have a bit of faith that Ward is so fed up with the Bute talk, he might give in to sign to fight him. I'd be all over a pair of tickets even if the fight was in LA or Oakland.
