if froch loses saturday night, and he chooses to retire, should he be fined or penalised for retiring during a tournament hes supposedly committed himself to? seems pointless signing up to a tournament if after a couple of losses u choose to retire
Taylor didn't wanted to be out of the tournament he was forced out. "For his own sake" not to get Ko'ed by the monster puncher that was suppose to fight next.
Of course not. You can't penalise a fighter if he reaches the point where he feels he can't do it any more.
Having a ****ing laugh, ain't you? If he retires he won't be down to any Dr. Shaw High bull****. He won't retire anyway. He's gonna do the smurf.
if Froch loses and retires then it all depends who will substitute him ... if Bute, nobody will try to penalize Carl for this wise decision
Don't get fooled by Froch words. Before each fight, he says: My life is on the line, I have to win, if not I will retire, blah blah blah. I don't buy that. Don't forget he also said he wouldn't do meaningful fights. Well, he has his place in semi-final, that's not meaningful. Bute is waiting for him, Pascal is waiting for a rematch. Froch may lose but he will stay in the tournament.
Showtime decided for Taylor to retire. Kessler is really injured and has to fight on Showtime if he ever heals. Dirrell said he was injured. He couldn't just say, I don't want to fight Ward. He needed a good reason. Froch couldn't say: I have enough, goodbye. He would have to lie and pretend to be injured.
It's easier to replace someone in the semifinals then it was in the group stage with all those points ... Or you can just let his opponent automatically advance into final. Froch won't retire unless he get's embarrassed by Abraham.
I've always felt since after the Kessler loss that he'd retire should he lose to Abraham. Then he'd come out of retirement in 18 months or so to re-match Pascal at light-heavy. If Abraham should lose, I just get the feeling that he will fight on in the tourney like the badass he is.
You can't be forced to fight if you don't want to. If the promoters don't give a **** let me enter the ring for themselves. Boxing is a sport where you can retire whenever you feel like. Moreover some people shall be retired with a assurance they won't fight any further, RJJ Holy.
He'll not get penalized when 3 other fighters have already pulled out. I doubt he retires anyway unless he's brutally KO'd, in which case he may pull out to take an "extended break" then fight Pascal next year
Froch isn't a quitter, you appear to be confusing a boxing warrior with a cheating cowardly ***** from flint michigan Learn boxing then come back. :verysad
