Somehow lose the fight, how badly would that affect his legacy?

Very badly. He needs a KO win over Kessler and a win over Ward and he's ahead of Calzaghe, who most people regard as Britain's best ever Super Middleweight.

Frochs my favourite to watch but I can't see him beating ward no matter where the fight is held, another loss to ward wouldn't do him any harm though where as another loss to Kessler would.

I dunno. I think the crop of super middles this last few years has been good. In kesslers case very good, in wards possibly special.

So his legacy is already fairly well set.

Would depend on the manner of the loss.

I think the venue is very important in a Kessler fight and I don't know if Kessler could be as up again as in the first fight where he fought like a man possessed.

It depends what he does after. It would look like he lost to the two best fighters he faced and even though he did great, wasn't quite a great. You have to include that in hindsight Dirrell, Taylor, Abrahams, Johnson etc all went down hill. Too early to say. The fact is, going into each fight it was tough and he can do no more. The Kessler fight is still viewed as close, winnable in a rematch and due to his warrior status only Ward was the real loss.

I very much doubt he will, Kessler is on the slide and increasingly dogged by injury problems.

He should have one the first one but he just couldnt quite pull the trigger that night.

I dont think he will be remembered as a good fighter what ever happens, he will be remembered as a warrior thus even if he loses (which i dont think he will) i dont think it will change much because people will see it as another tough fight.

Can't see Kessler winning at this stage in his career. Although Froch isn't the most technically gifted fighter, his heart and determination are far superior to any other current British fighter, and for that you have to love him. I don't think it'd affect his legacy. He needs Kessler over here, I'd fancy him to win via a late stoppage, then if he opts to rematch Ward, he will probably bow out on a valiant effort and good pay day over in the States. What with the odd defense that would probably enhance his image/legacy.

A win over Kessler now is meaningless if, as many seem to believe, Kessler's shot. And if he loses to this "shot" Kessler? It makes no odds. He lost the first fight, Mikkel just has his number.

i have not watched the fight since it happened, but from memory i thought froch was hurting kessler and was discouraging him, and he started to showboat a little and got hit with a great shot that stunned froch that gave keeler the confidence to go for it, i probably am wrong, i will have to go and watch it again, :yep

I love to watch Froch to and would like to see a rematch in England.
But don't forget that Kessler maybe has bigger hart, great chin, better movement and a great recovery. I can't see Carl stop him before time.
Kessler will KO Magee before round 6.
