the first fight Froch threw it away, he didnt step on the gas at any point, i had it a draw but really felt Froch could have won comfortably, he didnt follow his good work up enough and he allowed Kessler to get off too many times, even if he wasnt being hurt
Would love to see Kessler v Ward first now Montoya has had a year or so working with him , as for Ward v Froch i reckon Ward will always own Froch , Froch getting belted in front of his home town would do nothing to improve his record v top draw fighters .
The first fight told most people what they needed to know about where Kessler was. The accuracy had diminished along with the timing, he looked outright a less pysically primed athlete at that point. The fact he won was testiment to the guys fighting spirit and will to win no matter what. Kessler is now what, 2 years older and got buzzed by Allen ****ing Green in his last fight. The whole reason he got buzzed in that fight was because he can no longer judge distance correctly. Kessler is one of my favourite fighters, id much prefer he didnt become something to prop other fighter resume up with. If Froch lost to Kessler at this stage in my opinion it would be fairly damaging.
Kessler is shot. It'll look good on Froch's CV but it means little really. Froch is a victim of his own success. Theres only one meaningful fight out there for him @168 & that's Ward
