will that cement his greatness and redeem himself?

I've been seeing all these posts and threads about Usyk being able to beat Ali; being a generational fighter who'd be very successful in the 60s, 70s, 80's, 90s; a Top #5 ATG, one of the greatest heavyweights of all time, GOAT, so on and so forth ~

What if he beats Usyk? More so via knockout?

Will Fury still be in ATG Heavyweight contention?

    Yes...

He's already great even if he retires tomorrow. Rematch is any mans guess.

I think it's pretty much cemented though that down the stretch Fury's gas tank is no longer as capable and his power is pretty much gone after his gas tank wains. Although he did stop Usyk in his tracks in round 11 with an arm punch.

I expect both Fury & Usyk to put a LOT of effort into winning the early rounds clearly next time out. Fury won't be messing around like a divvy...

Again it's about tactics and execution of them. Preservation of energy. How to win rounds. Fury can hurt Usyk...and Usyk can hurt Fury. Sure it was Fury on the bad end of it but could easily go the other way in the rematch.

When you say cement his greatness, it was never cemented. He was talked about being rated as an ATG but there were doubters. If he wins the rematch then there has to be a decider. Then there’s Joshua. Too many variables at the moment. Head to head Fury beats a few champions that will be rated above him but Ali and Louis and Lewis will always be ranked above him no matter what he does now. Not enough years in him to match the above even if he finished 2-1 against Usyk.

No man born of a woman, can withstand the embarrassment of their hero being whooped and needing to be saved by the ref from being knockedout by a blown up middleweight. LOL

I think the rematch will be equally as close.
Fury's CV is far too weak to be considered as an all time great. He fought a lot of poor fighters and ducked a few good ones.
Fury is very good when he's focused.
He just fought too many B level boxers.
No issue fighting B level boxers, as long as he fights the best too. He shouldn't have wasted so many months/ years holding the division hostage. Still though. Better late than never.

Fury has had so many controversial fights and has yet to clear the division.

This is why you don't overhype heavyweight boxers and their resumes, especially when their careers aren't done. People calling Usyk the goat are setting themselves up for failure if Fury wins.

He just got beat and manhandled by a midget middleweight. Prior to that he won a very close decision against an MMA fighter that was 0-0 in boxing.

Prior to that, he had a trilogy with an anorexic, low skilled but heavy handed blown up middleweight Wilder.

I don't see how or why people see him as great let alone better than AJ.

Usyk is cemented as great permanently. There can be no doubt. Tyson Fury would be hughie fury if he was any shorter.

If Fury beats him, they will have a trilogy.

Fury will get a lot of credit

Nope, because Usyk is old and way past his prime. Who cares if Fury beats him now? Fury's opportunity to cement his greatness has come and gone. He won't ever achieve it, not unless he goes on a Larry Holmes style senior run and fights till he's fifty. Even then it won't eclipse Usyk.
