If Tyson Fury beat the winner of the Anthony Joshua vs the Oleksandr Usyk rematch would he surpass Lennox Lewis in the all time great heavyweight ranks ?

A lot of Lewis's opposition is ridiculously overrated. He also bored people to tears. He was sparked by two mediocre opponents.

Fury is certainly better than Lewis. It's laughable to suggest otherwise.

If he beat Usyk or AJ winner he would certainly go up in my opinion and be a top 10 HW og time (same if the Usyk and AJ winner beat Fury).

However Lewis is one the top 2 greatest HWs of all time in opinion.

    Comparing notable win

    Fury
AJ vs Usyk winner (in this scenario for instance but I don't think he doea)
    Wlad
    Whyte
    Chisora x 2
    Wilder x 3

    Compared to

    Lewis

    Hollyfield x 2
    Tyson
    Vitalli
    Tua
    Mercer
    Golota
    Morrison
    Bruno
    Briggs
    Rahman
    Grant
    Akinwade

There's a big difference in quality of depth between the two records. Lewis would still be way clear of Fury even if he somehow he beat the Usyk vs AJ winner.

No way, Fury is more like riddick bowe currently.
It would take a lot of work to surpass lennox lewis who has a vast resume.

If AJ beats Usyk and Fury andvreigns for a few more years he would possibke sccomplish it since he has more names on his resume.

    37 year old Holyfield
    Old Tyson, actually, in 2002.
    Controversial decision vs Mercer
Golota won a lawsuit showing he was poisoned vs Lennox
    KOd by Rahman
Also KOd by McCall, never truly avenged this one for reasons outside of his control

Fury isn't as great but Lennox's resume/dominance is probably the most overrated in history. If you look past name value and the actual fighters he fought and beat without controversy, you get Vitali, Tua, Bruno, Briggs, Rahman and Grant. It's unfair to write Holyfield off completely, but he was definitely past his best at that point.

Holyfield is the top achievement & is of almost 10 years passed the peak.
Tyson is passed by likelihood of 15 years & no longer good boxer

most other names of here = not outstanding. very much of the ordinary as boxers. mediocres. averages boxers.

Hollyfield might be 37 but he was still top quality.

Tyson was old but still quality as he proved by beating Bruno on his return.

Mercer wasn't controversial, close but not controversial. I had Lewis winning by 2 points.

    Avaneged Rahman by KOing him.

Mccall I agree with due to Mccall mental health in the second fight hence why I'd didnt mention his name on the list.

Even with just the names your counting in Vitali, Tua, Bruno, Briggs, Rahman and Grant is still very impressive list of names which is still better than Furys record at present.

No Lewis has a very deep body of work. Fury doesn't even have a top ten win list.

Tyson v Bruno 2 is March of 1996. Tyson v Lewis is June 2002.
