If Fury never throws another punch. Will history be kind.

I doubt we'll see him fight again. His pinnacle was comfortably beating the best heavyweight in a decade easily on a **** night... How does history paint Fury in say 15 years the same period ish that Lewis had been retired.

With a great big question mark.

It was an entertaining run, and I like the guy, he grew on me, where I give him credit is he improved every fight from his early days, never thought he'd become a world champ when I first saw him on Ch5 or ITV4 or something.

But unless we see him fight against someone at the top who is close to his own age, then in 15 years time he will most probably be merely an afterthought in people's memories. The guy who stopped Wlad's run when he was pushing 40, then gave it all up.

Hope he comes back though and gets his mind and body in shape.

The Ike Ibeabuchi of his era. Lots of could haves and should haves, but in actual fact, not much concrete proof on the record.

I some how feel that Fury feels he just got lucky, no confidence in himself despite all the talk..................diarrhea of the mouth usually means you are afraid.............perhaps he is, but he did have a lot of potential, sorry to say we will never seen him again in the ring...................

He'll end up a quiz question in 25 years if he doesn't fight again. He can say he won all the belts but that isn't all that can be achieved in boxing. Great build ups, rivalries and the fights themselves are remembered more than actual belts.

He will fight again, but until this drugs thing is sorted we'll be hearing a lot more of this talk.

He'll be the man who clearly beat a dominant 9-year champion and then gave up. Retired undefeated.
He wont be remembered as a great fighter or even a good champion but he'll be credited for what he did.

As long as Wladimir Klitschko is remembered, Tyson Fury will be remembered.

But he didn't. He was never undisputed world champ, no matter what he may claim.

You're no kind of champ if you don't try and defend your titles.

This is fair and I say that as one of Fury's harsher critics.

There is a lot that can be said about him and his team but to say he'll be forgotten entirely is nothing short of absurd.

It will be just a big "What if", like..

what if Prince Naz didn't retire when he did, could he have come back and been a great fighter?

what if Eubank Sr didn't land that uppercut, would Michael Watson have gone on to win that fight and be one of Britain's great fighters?

what if Mayweather fought the Pacquaio that blitzed Hatton?

what if Amir Khan had a granite chin?

what if David Price didn't have the lung capacity of an asthmatic hamster and the punch resistance of an 90 year old lady with brittle bone disease?

what if Golovkin had been American, would he have been given more respect?

what if Canelo had been American would he now be P4P number 1 on most American lists?

what if Ward had the courage like many others to fight outside his own country or even with neutral referee's and judges, would he still be unbeaten?

Those are the things I sometimes think about, oh and right now I'm thinking about what is my beautiful wife cooking me for dinner.

Fury is probably thinking exactly the same thing right now.

If he doesn't come back perhaps there is a future in reality TV for them "my 600 lbs ex-husband"

A fraud who didn't make 1 successful defence of his title.

No different to Buster Douglas but Buster at least beat Tyson.
