If Fury retires after winning rematch, where does he rank?

Has anyone ever had a short career with 1 huge win becoming champion then retired? Would there be any fighters in history that would have a comparable story?

Fury is all about the money. After a year someone will offer him a couple million to come back and fight Joshua and he'll do it.

 

Pretty much. There's an obsession with ATG and P4P rankings on this forum and it's really quite bizarre. Can ****yse fantasy match-ups all you want but you'll just never know. The fact is Tyson Fury is the current lineal HW champion whether people like it or not. Deal with it.

He is the current lineal champion, but if he walks for no good reason nobody should care about him or rate him for posterity.

 

Anywhere from the top 20, to the top 40 is a reasonable position. Gene Tunney makes the top 10 on some lists, and he certainly isn't a more accomplished HW than Fury.

 

Although he did not retire afterwards maybe Rid**** Bowe (his 2 wins against prime Holyfield)

 

It wouldn't make him anywhere near an ATG imo.

Whats more interesting is how many of those posters predicting a Wlad KO, did so the first time ?

Two wins against an aged Wlad do nothing for him. Absolutely nothing.

 

He ranks right along with Haye, nowhere neat top 10. A loudmouth only concerned with money, yanking around fans with promises of retirement
