There's no denying the ducking, money grabbing, charity giving, Passat driving, fighting man Tyson Fury is one of, if not the best heavyweight in the world.

However, with all this talk about p4p lately with Crawford and Inoue, would Fury actually be champion at any other weight if he was the same size as the respective champ?

It's debatable if Fury would be able to beat Usyk as it is but if Usyk was the same size as Fury he would win hands down every time.

Fury might be slick for a heavyweight but it's his sheer size and being in a crap heavyweight era that has made him a champion.

Could you imagine how skillful he would look if he was shrunk down to Crawford or Inoue's size? He would be made to look like a novice.

As much as a ***** Fury is, he's a brilliant fighter, no doubt about it, elite skills/abilty. It's not even up for debate.

    He'd get shown up.

It took him over a decade as a professional heavyweight to learn how to punch (although i think its down to peds). Now look at what Inoue, Loma, Usyk have done in that time. Pacman as well. What advantage would he hold over Inoue or Loma or Rigo at those weights? Non.

If he was smaller he would be even faster and even more agile so I think he would still be very competitive

This is basically just saying “People think Fury is a good boxer, but I can imagine a fictional version of him that actually wouldn’t do very well at all.”

1 billion per cent this. That’s why he shouldn’t be anywhere near any P4P list. He’s only dominating because he is the size of a house, similar to when Wladimir was champion. Due to size, however fair play to him. He’s currently the heavyweight champ, but he is no where near elite level.

    Crawford on Saturday. That’s elite.

Completely disagree, but that’s the great thing about debating on a forum about the sport we love :).

Good post. I loved prime Rigo, pretty much unbeatable. Loma too.

If my aunt had balls would she be my uncle?

It's not something you can compare because if fighters were bigger they wouldn't be able to move the same and vice versa for fury.

He might be a ducker at the minute but it's hard to pick a heavyweight bar lewis that wouldn't struggle to beat fury. In years to come I honestly think we will look back at fury as a all time great.

The same can be said of a smaller man moving up to HW.

If Crawford was a 6 foot 6 HW he wouldn’t have the same coordination, agility, or speed would he.

Body size mass, length of limbs and size of frame influences speed / agility and movement.

Remember how slow Roy Jones was when he fought at HW having started at MW, that wasn’t only age that was the increased mass and muscle he was carrying. Imagine a HW with a bigger frame and longer limbs, that is even slower and less coordinated.

    Good one...

He beat the most limited heavy I have ever clapped eyes on in Wilder. He ducked the Wlad rematch, and Wlad didn't know how to counter his feints. God almighty. So a big puncher and a man going through a divorce are his best wins.

Holyfield, Vitali, Lewis, Ike, Holmes, Foreman all beat Tyson.

Tyson could beat all of them.
