and didn’t take copious amounts of cocaine and alcohol...

Do you think he would still be champion today? Would he have beat Wilder and unified the division?

Yeah, but he isn't. So many boxers out there that were "this guy could have been great" stories.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but maybe Eddie Hearn, who has sky in his back pocket, had a part to play in getting Fury banned for drugs. This then sent Fury into a long depression. Allowing Humble to evolve into the cheating champ cash cow he is now.

I doubt it, Fury was already offering his alibi for his failed drug test before he'd even failed his drug test. In that he was already talking about how steroids could easily be getting into the meat supply. That's what people of average intelligence do when they have their spouse killed. When they find the body, they ring up 911 or 999 and start going into detail of where they were to give themselves a rock solid alibi, which always raises suspicions, as most people would still be in shock when they've just found their dead wife/husband, and if anything would be more concerned about what had just happened or if the killer is still in the local vicinity.

But anyway, to answer the OP, I think Fury would still be champ if he had drive and dedication. But you can't really separate those things from the athlete... talent, or even intelligence, is no good without drive.

    Highly unlikely.
He has shown to be vulnerable when his opponent brings it to him, shorter fighters throwing overhand rights.
And even if he managed to beat all his opponents, he still would have had a doping violation which means he would have been stripped anyway.

Mate. Furys story is cliched as they come. I'm living a version of it myself as are 98% of the population out there, just some might too young to have experienced it yet. The sqaundering of youth, talent, and ability. Don't expect him back. If he does get back, he won't be the same. If he comes back better he really will be an atg.

In my mind he would always lose to Wilder.. Wilder is just all wrong for him. Fury would beat AJ though. And AJ will beat Wilder. Fights styleth make.

Fury has had 2 ‘mpresdive’ wins.

Against Dereck Chisora who is 7.5 inches shorter and with an 11 inch reach disadvantage.
    A bit of a joke.

Then against Vlad where he landed little more than 80 punches in 12 rounds to Vlad’s little more than 50.
Most of those were nothing punches.
A messy, dull, boring fight, notable for...well nothing really.

Fury has been on the canvas in his pro career.
    He also lacks real power.

It baffles me that he is held in such high regard.

    Not forgetting tne homophobic remarks.

And tne convenient depression to distract from tne ‘wild boar munching’ ban.

Physically he looked a different fighter in tne ring with Vlad. Leaner.
    Then failed a drug’s test.

To my mind, that makes even tne Vlad win/credit null and void.
    Or are drugs ok now?

    I reallt don’t get it.

Lol no, Tyson Fury is only special to Brits who don't know boxing. He was always a fat lard butt who best win came against a 40 year old timid Wladimir Klitschko in the most boring heavyweight title fight ever. Tyson Fury was almost knocked out by light punching cruiserweight Steve Cunningham with one punch and was down on the score time at the time of the stoppage. Tyson Fury was always a joke and will always be a joke.

If Fury was as dedicated as say Wlad or Joshua then he'd likely still have a title, if that was of course he was stripped for failing doping tests which is the other issue he had along with his lack of discipline and dedication.

But lets say best case scenario he's clean and dedicated. I think he would of beat Wlad in the rematch, probably would of been more competitive but he'd still have won, styles makes fights and Fury is just all wrong for Wlad.

Wilder would still likely be WBC champion. Fury was never a big draw, he was only going to make £2.4 mill for the Wlad rematch. He simply wouldn't of been a big enough draw for Wilder and his handlers to make a unification fight. It's why they could agree terms with Parker after the Joshua/Wlad fight. Wilder and his team would only risk a loss if the payout was worth it.

Fury was stripped of the IBF belt 2 weeks after winning it for rematching Wlad instead of facing he mandatory Glazkov. Joshua would of course then pick up that belt. Leaving Fury with just the WBA, WBO and IBO belts. The WBO did strip Fury a year later for inactivity, though lets assume Fury rematched Wlad so kept the belt and didn't have any odd ankle injuries.

Question does Hearn then risk Joshua vs prime Fury? If he does, Fury regains the IBF belt, if not the belts would remain split. Joshua would likely not be the big star he is now, both Fury and Joshua make decent money while calling each other out but never fighting until Hearn decides to risk it. Wilder in the mean time is still defending against other Haymon fighters and ducking Povetkin and then Whyte and any other mandatory that comes along.
