If they fought no way Matthysse could be as wreckless as he was against Peterson, I think he just didn't fear Peterson at all

 

Matthysse's left hook is quicker and shorter than Garcia's, plus it's much more powerful. Garcia does not want to fight Matthysse at all. Matthysse will knock Garcia out. Watch and see, if you can get Garcia into a ring with him. Matthysse is more skilled than Garcia, straighter punches.............

Yeah, he's got two completely invaluable assets that can serve as massive equalizers against more skilled opponents than himself, and they cannot be taught. From what it looks like, he's got them with plenty to spare too. Not making a direct comparison at all, but I always felt SRR's power and chin (as well as speed) were actually far greater than his skills or technique. You see him often turning into a banger, throwing a lot of wide, looping shots and not being too terribly difficult to hit. At the end of the day, it didn't matter.
