I realize you're not watching tape carefully enough. Sexy Sergio's gay cousin Lucas couldn't even cut the ring off on Zab Judah.

Here something for you think about. Floyd, WHO ISN'T EVEN A PRESSURE FIGHTER, cut Zab off. Not only that but he fought a better version of Zab.

You kids got a hardon for Lucas because of his offense yet he was incapable of imposing beautiful combos on Zab the way Floyd did.

Lucas also followed Devon around lost at times.

If he can get pass Garcia and fights Floyd, you'll witness the difference between a mere shooting star and a REAL boxer who transcends the eras.

David Tua had even more p4p power than Matthayse. His chin is better than Lucas and he had under rated boxing skills.

Razer Ruddock had a specific punch that probably was as hard p4p as anything Matthyase ever thrown.
Tommy Morrison's left hook is p4p as hard as Matthayse's right.

ANyone who know anything about the heavyweight division will tell you the above 3 fighters had godly powers in that one instant of explosion.

What makes Matthayse different? His body work? Ruddock had good body combination too against Tyson.

His boxing skills and his chin. Tua got a better chin and Morrison had under rated boxing skills.

I'm not saying Matthayse won't go far.. I'm just saying there has been a **** load of God Like power punchers in the 90's heavyweight division and they had all been neutralized.

Lucas gets frustrated, throws one of his wild right hayemakers, it gets shoulder rolled, and he eats a right in return.

He can't help but eat right hooks. Floyd began to let them go effortlessly in his last two fights

That is the problem with big punchers. Their frustration is very very obvious to see.

    Flash Back.. Tua vs Lewis.

Tua came out in the 1st round looking to kill, Lewis just absorbed it and casually toyed with him all over the ring. Lewis counters with huge rights and by the 3rd round Tua is confused and befuddled as to why the 'glass jaw' Brit is still alive.

Ruddock had a punch call the 'smash' which was known to 'kill' people.
He threw that one punch at least half a dozen times against a Young Lewis and Lewis simply stepped back and hit him with a straight right which dropped him so hard he literally did a little Amir Khan slip.

Big Punchers always gets neutralized against two kinds of people

1- Fighters who are also big punchers but have elite boxing skills to go with it.

2- Defensive masters+counter punchers who have deadly patience and is immune to crowd displeasure.

This is just the age we now live in. The internet hype age. I am quite shocked that Matthayse has managed to become so hyped in such a short amount of time based on 'good' boxing skills and a massive punch. I am shocked because those types of fighters were literally a dime a dozen in the 90's and most of them never fully lived up to expectations.

Big punchers always get over hyped.

I remember Larry Merchant after Tua send Prime John Ruiz into a coma.

'MARCIANO,TYSON, AND AND AND TUA... AND TUA... AND TUA..'

I'm sure even most other Floyd fans would agree with that. A lot of people have a particular style they take to and stick with it. I keep a wider variety of favorites across the board -- it's how I can have both Mike Tyson and Pernell Whitaker amongst my top five.

Garcia's left hook is much scarier. He's just not the all-around puncher that Matthysse is.

That doesn't mean anything though. Ricardo Torres is one of the biggest punchers in boxing and after dropping Holt a few times, it only took one big left hook from Holt to win by KO.
