PBF based on lack of warrior spirit, lack of being humble and proclaiming himself as the best ever when he cherry picks to this day. Oh yeah and for never having the balls to reach his true potential

I dont think that any fighter has ever been totally the hated the way that Gatti is beloved. Most so-called hated fighters have just as many fans as haters. Fighters like Gatti have haters as well, just not many.

I have to wonder how people felt about Battling Siki at the time, who was basically the overseas version of Jack in a number of ways. I've gotta think the general feeling was pretty similar.

The fighter i personally hate the most is James Toney. .

Some people find him funny, i find him irritating and delusional

But the most hated fighter of all time is Jack Johnson

Eubank and Hamed were 'awful to watch' :patsch

Have you not seen Hamed vs. Bungu/Kelley/Robinson/Sanchez?

    How about Eubank vs Benn/Thompson 1 & 2?

I have to make an argument for Mike Tyson as the most hated. He may of course also be the most liked.

More people are aware of Mike Tyson's existence, therefore more can hate him. If Tyson is known to twice as many people as any other fighter, and only half of them hate him, then he has more haters than any other boxer has fans.

I would counter this by pointing to Glen Johnson - a guy that everybody seems to like. It's the mixture of disrespect and beating Jones (well, I reckon you can expand that to anyone) that gets to his fans - ie, Tarver.

To add my own two cents to the topic - how about James Butler, the ******* who sucker punched someone in the ring after a fight and then murdered Kellerman's brother.

Also, if we're talking boxing people and not just fighters, I feel quite comfortable in saying Panama Lewis is the most hated person in the sport's history. Even Jack Johnson had fans when he fought...I can't ever remember anybody saying they remotely liked Lewis.

And if they did, they should probably be peckerslapped into submission.

    Woah there, buddy!

I personally don't dislike Eubank - you're right, he fought like a true warrior in the bouts you mention.

But you're misquoting me - I'm suggesting that many in the Ingle camp were disliked for their showboating styles which, irrespective of their undoubted success rates, were often not very pretty on the eye, and as a consequence had the fans voting with their feet and/or remote controls!

The fighters I put in the frame are not necessarily my personal choice antway - I'm just throwing some names into the ring as some who were not particularly embraced by the British public overall.:thumbsup
