Canelo vs. All Star - $27 Million Lawsuit Enters Crucial Stage One of the more important boxing related trials is possibly going to conclude in the next few days. All Star Boxing President Felix 'Tutico' Zabala has sued Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Golden Boy Promotions in Miami, Florida - and they are currently engaged in an ongoing trial. In the legal documents, Zabala claims to have signed Canelo to a four-year promotional agreement in 2008. There was a clause that extending that agreement if Canelo became world champion during the time frame of the deal - but Zabala claims the Mexican superstar violated the terms of that contract by signing with Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy the following year. Zabala filed the lawsuit in 2011 and the trial a few weeks ago. The witnesses were finished up on Friday and on Monday both sides are expected to give their closing arguments before the jury is ordered to decided on a verdict. According to reporter George Ebro, everything could be completed between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, when the judge will request a verdict from the jury. Zabala is seeking $27 million in damages, plus other expenses caused by the breakdown of his relationship with Alvarez, who is now one of the kings of pay-per-view and generated, according to estimates, more than $300 million in revenue over the years. Canelo claims that he signed a contract that was written in English and thought it was a document to secure a work visa for the United States. On the other hand, Golden Boy claims Zabala breached his contract with Canelo because he failed to fulfill his obligations as a promoter and now want to benefit from Canelo's success. Canelo had nine fights under the promotion of All Star Boxing. The first on the 24th of November 2008 and the last on December 5, 2009 against Lanardo Tyner. For these fights in a span of 13 months, Zabala claims Canelo pocketed about $180,000. Canelo then accepted an offer from De La Hoya and signed with Golden Boy Promotions. Since leaving Zabala, he's had 17 fights. @ scene It's sad but it may be the only way to see GGG vs Canelo in the near future.
He'll probably fight Pac for a ton of money More money than he'll make fighting GG twice Either way I want him to fight pac
Either he'll fight Manny or they will beg Floyd for a rematch. I see him dropping that Haymon suit like Top Rank and Main Events. Oscar does not have a big enough war chest to go at Haymon. Him accusing someone of stealing fighters, while he was literally stealing fighters is super karma for that maggot. Everything he said about Haymon, (having lopsided matches, having his fighters take on easy comp) is the exact thing he has done with Canelo. Fushumang
Why would you want him to fight Pac? Pac deserves his retirement, he's been in enough wars and Canelo is a good deal bigger than Pac.
