If prime George Foreman had to fight against every heavyweight Champion before him would he beat the massive majority? How about those that came after his prime?

    Definite loss: Ali
    Likely losses: Holmes, Lewis, Fury
    Possible losses: Louis, Holyfield, Liston
    Wins: everyone else.

His toughest tests where I'd favour his opponenrs are:

-Ali (even though I think he'd do better against 65-67 Ali & has a chance - unlike most)
    -Liston (60/40)

    And that's it

I you to say Louis, but I changed my mind after assessing their skilks, their strengths & weaknesses...

The ones I'd favour who came after him are Holmes (although I can see him getting KO'ed) & Fury (same reasons as Holmes). I'd favour Vitali to beat him in a difficult fight, where he gets busted up for some rounds, but wins via TKO in 8.

    Lewis & Wlad are 50/50

I think alphabet titleholders like Tubbs, Page, Witherspoon, Tucker & Byrd could give Foreman problems - but still lose. Tyson is one I go back & forth on.

Sometimes I favour Tyson over Foreman, other times I favour Foreman over Tyson. I think I've finally come to the conclusion that Foreman will beat Tyson "Prime for Prime" (60/40 Foreman), but it's still a dangerous fight & nothing like the Frazier fights.

He’d lose to quite a few. Walcott, Charles, Moore could beat him, but men like Baer would most likely get run over. Louis would decimate him, a younger Ali makes it look worse. He could beat Marcinao, but I’m not sure. Sonny Liston is 50-50. I don’t think he beats as many definite enough for me to say he’d do very well. (Edit:) If he was thrown into Jack Johnson's era and Dempsey's with the gloves and rule set he'd be humiliated Jack would break him on the inside and Johnson would amplify anything Young and Ali could've done. 20 odd rounds, lots of clinching against Jack? Sounds like a nightmare for George.

Well Holmes, Lewis, Fury, and Holy weren't before him but excellent post.

Liston, Louis, and Ali are the only people I'd favor to beat Foreman, before him.

To be honest, after watching Ali handling Foreman in the clinch with dirty tactics I think that Jack Johnson is a bad matchup for him. Jack had all the tools to frustrate Foreman - he was the master of clinch game, he had very quick hands and good jab, he could also play it tricky on defense.

    Me too.

I'll go ahead with those after, too. Holmes would stop him in 10, the Bowe of Holy I would scrape up a decision at least (I see Bowe getting to him enough with the jab to survive the early rounds and make him cautious, though getting dangerously rocked in the process), and I think it's slightly less possible Wlad and Steward era Lewis would SD him.

As phenomenally great as Holy was, he would try to mix it up like he did Bowe and get ultimately pulverized.

Me too, the Foreman of 72/73 would be too big and powerful for all the others IMO. stay safe buddy.

How many rounds? Get Jeffries in there with Foreman in a fight to finish, and we could maybe see him outlasting Foreman, even tho the chances for that scenario are very slim.

All due respect, but I can't see anyone as hittable as Bowe beating Foreman. This is a rare case, where Foreman actually has the better defense.

He actually asked for both before and after in his opening spiel (not in the thread topic) Swag.
