I don’t believe Foreman would of fared to well had he continued after Young. The book was out on Foreman. Tires out by mid rounds and isn’t mentally strong. Holmes would of smelled blood in the water. Handing George his 3rd loss. I believe George washes out of the division around the time Tyson rises up in 86-87. I wouldn’t guess to who else beats him but I think after Holmes he could beat some guys for sure but his confidence would be rattled and someone else out the early 80s guys like Weaver, Cooney, Witherspoon, would pick him off maybe Pinklon Thomas would be the guy.

Swag, I think that you are a great poster but if Foreman did not get himself used to the climate it is on him. Besides I knew that he would take Young for granted. So sorry but Young won me $10.00 from a chum in High School, I was a Senior then.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to making this the most viewed topic I've ever posted.

As for the acclimatization period, I agree. If Foreman had a day to acclimatize, that's his fault (fight with Young), or he was overconfident, which is also a fault.

But as for the heat of the TV lights, I disagree. TV lights affect both boxers equally (whether it's Foreman and Young, or Joe Bugner and Muhammad Ali). Of course, we can say that the skin surface of boxers is not the same, so the TV lights have a greater effect on the boxer who has a larger skin surface...

Moorer was shid................went life and death with crack head Cooper, took him 12 to get to Botha who a totally shot to pieces Tyson waxed with one blow.....went 12 with Euro bum Schulz......good win from a historical stand point for Foreman but Moorer would never survive more than three rounds combined against Lewis/Bowe/post prison Tyson.................even the shot Botha version sends Moorer;s head into the cheap seats

very good post and I agree. Foreman was materially damaged from Zaire and there is no way he could have continued in boxing and actually succeed again. No, that took divine appointment in the locker room after his loss to Jimmy Young. Hence, Foreman found God and look how he was restored to his former glory, 21 years later.

Holmes was insane in the ring by 1982, may have been the last year of his prime, Foreman may have started his weight gain by then, before then a slimmer Foreman would have stood a much better chance.
