If George Foreman wanted to make a comeback to fight Tyson Fury it would be illegal to bar him

He was a funny fella, no doubts there. My favourite is definitely the "He hit Ken Norton like he do all his opponents, caught him early." tirade after the Caracas fight, ending in "we'll cook you!" Great stuff.

 

It’s just the sort of fight Fury would take.

 

Funny enough, I picked up a random mag from my collection yesterday- World Boxing 98- and whaddayaknow, there's King Peanut in the ring after one of his fights, holding a massive photo of George- calling him out yet again!

It's a good issue actually- the cover / main article is about 'piecing together the perfect heavyweight champion'. Larry wins 1 category (the jab, of course); Foreman wins '0'. Just sayin'.

 

Jack Johnson sparred Joe Jeanette when they were both in their 60’s. Enough interest, money and back handers and who knows? Azumah Nelson vs Barry McGuigan. Foreman vs Homes. Bowe vs Lewis. Toney vs Hopkins. If the moneys right who’s ever cared about the fighters health. Just saying.

 

I don't see the harm if he's fighting another senior citizen for shorter bouts (4 1 minute rounds) with headgear and extra padded gloves/torso protectors. Have the ref stop it immediately if anyone gets hit with more than 4 clean shots or a knockdown. Extra padding on the canvas. This of course assuming both guys can pass medical clearing.

 

It is not illegal but should be.
